Prophetic Chess Pieces — Israel And Syria Go Toe To Toe; U.S. To Recognize A Palestinian State?
Harbingers Daily ^ | 2/1/24 | Erick Stakelbeck

When we talk about the Iranian-backed ring of fire that surrounds Israel on all sides, we focus oftentimes on Gaza and Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists. Lebanon is frequently discussed, which is Hezbollah’s main power base that is exchanging daily fire, even deadly fire, with Israel. We also have the Houthis in Yemen, harassing shipping in the Red Sea, and very active Iranian-backed Shia militias in Iraq causing havoc, in particular, against US targets.

But many times, it seems that Syria is left out of the equation in the larger conversation. Well, folks, let me tell you, Syria remains a very active front. Israel has carried out hundreds, if not more, airstrikes in Syria over the past several years, striking Iranian-backed targets in the region.

The Assad regime and the Syrian army are an avowed ally of the Iranian regime. Iran is in Syria, with the red carpet treatment. And by the way, Iran is here to stay. They’re not going anywhere—unless they are forcibly pushed out.

Syria is still formally in a state of war with Israel and has been for decades. It should come as no surprise that the Syrian military and Israel sometimes exchanged pretty heavy blows, and that has apparently happened again overnight.

Syria, or a terror group operating with the full cooperation of the Syrian Army, launched rockets from the Daraa region into the Israeli Golan Heights. While this has happened many times, since October 7, we’ve seen an uptick in escalation.

The Israel Defense Forces responded, striking targets around the Daraa region at Syrian Army positions.

US recognizing a Fakestinian terrorist state is fine if that’s what they want to do, but it will NOT be permitted in the Jewish Promised Land
anymore

that game is OVER, done, KAPUT after the Fakestinian assault murdering 1300 innocent people and wounding over 4000

forget it, Biden and SorozNazi and Blinken... you only make fools of yourselves in what would have to be the most mis-guided gesture to pure Evil in history

If the current group of ineptness ruling the U.S. supports it, it will most certainly be a complete failure. Fear the worst.

Would it take an act of Congress?

The Supreme Court’s decision in Zivotofsky v. Kerry appears to be the first instance in which the Court held that an act of Congress unconstitutionally infringed upon a foreign affairs power of the President. The case concerned a legislative enactment requiring the Secretary of State to identity a Jerusalem-born U.S. citizen’s place of birth as Israel on his passport if requested by the citizen or his legal guardian. The State Department had declined to follow this statutory command, citing long-standing executive policy of declining to recognize any country’s sovereignty over the city of Jerusalem. It argued the statute impermissibly intruded upon the President’s constitutional authority over the recognition of foreign nations and their territorial bounds, and attempted to compel the President to contradict his recognition position regarding Jerusalem in official communications with foreign sovereigns.

The Zivotofsky Court evaluated the State Department’s non-adherence to a statutory command using the framework established by Justice Robert Jackson’s concurring opinion in Youngstown, under which executive action taken in contravention of a legislative enactment will only be sustained if the President’s asserted power is both exclusive and conclusive on the matter. The Constitution does not specifically identify the recognition of foreign governments among either Congress’s or the President’s enumerated powers. But in an opinion that employed multiple modes of constitutional interpretation, the Court concluded that the Constitution not only conferred recognition power to the President, but also that this power was not shared with Congress.

Assad is from the minority Alawite sect. They are a splinter of the Shia faith, but also a different tribe than the majority of Syrians. Assad needs foreign military aid to maintain his rule. Otherwise he’d have been deposed, probably in a military coup. He also has the Russians in there to protect him- that one was caused by Obama’s erratic behavior during the Arab Spring. Obama basically gave Russia a foothold that they lost back in 1979 with the Camp David accords. The Russian Iranian alliance runs through Syria and Turkey. Russia also took Crimea under Obama-Biden. Probably why Putin and Iran felt emboldened when Biden was elected.

Isaiah 19 has a VERY interesting, downright intriguing prophecy about Israel, Egypt, and Syria (which is referred to as Assyria in the OT)

It’s the whole chapter.....

> Would it take an act of Congress? <

It should, but it won’t. Congress was supposed to set policies. Then the president was supposed to carry out those policies.

Those days are gone. We now live in the age of the imperial presidency. I heard on the news the other day that Biden was cancelling some oil leases on federal land. Who is he to do that on his own? Congress should decide.

The Lord will bring those nations back to Himself and bless them.

Amazing! I love Isaiah 19!

Yup.

Essentially, Egypt is going to say *Hey, we’ve seen this before* and then do the right thing this time and repent.

while the constitution does not specifically provide for it, I believe a president can issue a statement “recognizing” a foreign country

policically speaking however, it would be the death of the D party in America if he tried it

Does anyone think of it were up to a vote, the terrorists would get their own state?

[U.S. To Recognize A Palestinian State?]

This will be perhaps the stupidest decision ever - leading to the rise of the Antichrist, who will confirm the 7-year covenant of 'Peace and Security' - many shrug and scoff.

The reality will be stark and dreary. And unstoppable all the way to the REAL Armageddon.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-4 English Standard Version (ESV) - The Day of the Lord

5:1 Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you.

2 For you yourselves are fully aware that the Day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

3 While people are saying, “There is -—peace and security-—,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

4 But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief.

metmom Syria (which is referred to as Assyria in the OT)

That is false - we are talking of two different entities - partially overlapping in geography (partially) but separated by 2700 years

Core Assyria was and is in what is now northern Iraq

Core SYRIA is Damascus and referred to in the Old Testament books from Exodus to Maccabees as "Aram" or "Aram-Damascus"

to the NORTH of Aram/Damascus was the Assyrian empire
