If Modern Israel Is Not Biblical Israel, Then Why Is The God Of The Bible Protecting It?
Harbingers Daily ^ | 11/27/23 | Amir Tsarfati

All throughout the modern history of Israel – the hand of God in rescuing the remnant from the gas chambers and the death camps in Europe; the hand of God in bringing them back to a land that once was a barren wasteland and now is one of the most fertile grounds in the world; the hand of God in reviving the old forgotten Hebrew language as the only means of communication between people that come from more than 80 different diasporas; the hand of God in making sure that the efforts to destroy the newborn state will fail.

God’s hand was all throughout the history of Israel as a newborn state, and for the past more than 66 years, God is there. The Bible says that, “He that keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.” The people of Israel are strong and resilient. The people of Israel have seen the great hand of God in protecting and providing everything they needed. And we’re holding onto the promise that God gave to Israel through the prophet Amos in the ninth chapter of his book: “‘And I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; they shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. I will plant them in their land and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land that I have given them,’ says the Lord your God. Amen.”

At its birth in 1948, the nation of Israel was invaded by five armies who proclaimed a jihad, vowing to destroy Israel and spill every drop of their own blood, if necessary. When attacked, Israel did not own one tank or cannon and had nine outdated aircraft. The five invading armies were repelled, and Israel survived and even thrived.

Before the Six-Day War of 1967, President Nasser of Egypt announced, “The armies of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon are poised on the borders of Israel…to face the challenge, while standing behind us are the armies of Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Sudan, and the whole Arab nation. This act will astound the world. Today they will know that the Arabs are arranged for battle, the critical hour has arrived. We have reached the stage of serious action and not declarations.”

President Abdur Rahman Aref of Iraq joined in the war of words, saying, “The existence of Israel is an error which must be rectified. This is our opportunity to wipe out the ignominy which has been with us since 1948. Our goal is clear — to wipe Israel off the map.” On June 4, Iraq joined the military alliance with Egypt, Jordan, and Syria.

The Arab rhetoric was matched by the mobilization of Arab forces. Approximately 250,000 troops (nearly half in Sinai), more than 2,000 tanks, and 700 aircraft surrounded Israel. Yet again, outnumbered, outgunned, surrounded, and facing seemingly insurmountable odds, it took just six days for Israel to be victorious. East Jerusalem was taken, and the sound of these words resonated throughout the county: “The Temple Mount is in our hands!”

On October 6, 1973 — Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar — Egypt and Syria opened a coordinated surprise attack against Israel. Approximately 180 Israeli tanks faced an onslaught of 1,400 Syrian tanks. Along the Suez Canal, fewer than 500 Israeli defenders were attacked by 80,000 Egyptians (from the Jewish Virtual Library). Yet Israel was again victorious.

Even with all this clear evidence that Israel is once again a nation by the providence and promises of God, here we are again today with Israel under attack by those who hate the Jews.

Zechariah 12:3 KJV – “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”

The fact that what we are watching is spiritual in nature is proven by the world’s seeming indifference to rape, torture, and murder, as long as it is against the Jews. Sadly, many within the church have joined those labeling the Jews as occupiers and excusing the actions of the Palestinian terrorists as justified because of their oppression. Some do so under a banner proclaiming that modern Israel is not biblical Israel.

Genesis 12:3 KJV – “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

Genesis 12:7 KJV – “And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.”

Genesis 17:18-19 KJV – “And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! 19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.”

If modern Israel is not Biblical Israel, then why is the God of the Bible protecting it from those who want to annihilate its people? The answer is simple: He made the covenant, and it is His name and Word that is on the line.

In the famed passage of Genesis 12:3, we see a warning of curses followed by a promise of blessings which still stands true and is manifesting itself today. God said that through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob would come the Holy One of Israel, our Savior, and the world is still blessed by Him today. But if the promise is still true, the warning is as well.

The interesting thing about the warning is that “curse” and “curses” are two different Hebrew words. The word “curse” means “to treat bitterly.” The word “curses” means “to make light of or think little of.” In paraphrase, what we are told is those who think little of Israel will be treated bitterly by God for doing so.

History has proven this to be true concerning the modern nation of regathered Jews into their national homeland. It will be proven again in the current conflict, and, soon, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against Jerusalem, it will be proven again then too!

Zechariah 12:8-9 KJV – “In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.”

Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus.

Already answered. All you have to do is read.
Not answered by you in this thread. All you have to do is write.

For the third time,

Do you think your sins are forgiven?
If so, under which covenant?

It’s actually only one covenant

Well, that is correct in that God only made one covenant with Noah and every every living creature, so this applies directly to you. However, there is no forgiveness of sins in that covenant.

Gen.9

[1] And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
[2] And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.
[3] Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
[4] But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
[5] And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.
[6] Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
[7] And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.
[8] And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,
[9] And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;
[10] And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.
[11] And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
[12] And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
[13] I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
[14] And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
[15] And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
[16] And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
[17] And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

Sounds like someone doesn’t know how to discern.

So true.

It only takes reading the first three chapters of Revelation to understand this.

I guess ONLY the SDA does it right.

You nailed it!

Now when the GWJ finally does occur, you can use me as an excuse for your understanding, or not, of certain parts of the Book.

Surely you do not want to rely on Elsie vs Ellen at that point!

However, there is no forgiveness of sins in that covenant.

Or, any sins listed.

Genesis 6:11-13

11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. 13 So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.

Wait... WHAT??!!??

What SINS were they committing?  What LAWS had been broken??

Sounds like a bill of attainder to me!

I think you missed my point. Those 45,000 Christian denominations all view scripture differently in some ways and it defines their beliefs/denomination.

Most in that group are missing the mark on discernment.

Not what I meant.

However, the covenant made with Noah had absolutely nothing to do with the forgiveness of sins.

11. Neither shall all flesh be cut off. This “covenant” contained but one provision and assumed the form of a divine promise. Regions might be devastated and animals and men swept away by the hundreds or thousands, but never again would there be a universal destruction of the earth by a flood. However, this promise does not imply that God is bound never to destroy the world again by another means than water. His declared plan to put an end to all wickedness at the close of this world’s history by a great destructive fire (2 Peter 3:7, 10, 11; Rev. 20:9; etc.) in no way contradicts the promise.

I'll also add this:

Covenant. Gr. diathēkē (see on ch. 7:22).

With the house of Israel. The new covenant is here mentioned as being made with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, since it was first offered to these two houses (Jer. 31:31–34). When the Jews turned down their religious privileges, “the kingdom of God” was taken from them (see on Matt. 21:33–43). The Christian church is the inheritor of the spiritual privileges and responsibilities that once belonged to literal Israel (see Vol. IV, pp. 35, 36).

No, the new covenant was not taken from the House of Israel and the House of Judah. The kingdom of God was taken from the chief priests and scribes and given to the Jewish Apostles, who will sit on twelve thrones judging the tribes of Israel.

The new covenant is made with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah. It cannot be annulled.

Romans 11 [29] For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Jeremiah 31:
[31] Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

[32] Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

[33] But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

[34] And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

[35] Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:

[36] If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

[37] Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.

Acts 5: [39] But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

Matthew 19: [25] When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

[26] But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

[27] Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

[28] And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

[29] And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

[30] But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

Luke 22:[28]Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.
[29] And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
[30] That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

——>No, the new covenant was not taken from the House of Israel and the House of Judah. The kingdom of God was taken from the chief priests and scribes and given to the Jewish Apostles, who will sit on twelve thrones judging the tribes of Israel.

No. Made WITH, and taken FROM. 490 years for thy people (ISRAEL) “to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity.” They failed. (This is a CRITICAL prophecy that you STILL do not understand).

Daniel 9:24Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Matthew 21:43Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from YOU, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

Taken from some numbered chief priests and scribes in Christ’s presence and given to a NATION of people? No, that’s ridiculous.

Let’s see how NON-SDA, John Calvin, puts it.

Calvin’s Commentary on the Bible

43.Therefore I say to you. Hitherto Christ directed his discourse to rulers and governors, but in presence of the people. Now, however, he addresses in the same manner the people themselves, and not without reason, for they had been the companions and assistants of the priests and scribes in hindering the grace of God. It was from the priests, no doubt, that the evil arose, but the people had already deserved, on account of their sins, to have such corrupt and degenerate pastors. Besides, the whole body was infected, as it were, by a similar malice to resist God. This is the reason why Christ denounces against all indiscriminately the dreadful vengeance of God; for as the priests were inflated with the desire of holding the highest power, so the rest of the people gloried on the ground of having been adopted. Christ now declares that God was not bound to them, and, therefore, that he will convey to another the honor of which they rendered themselves unworthy. And this, no doubt, was once spoken to them, but was written for the sake of all of us, that, if God choose us to be His people, we may not grow wanton through a vain and wicked confidence in the flesh, but may endeavor, on our part, to perform the duties which he enjoins on his children;

for if he spared not the natural branches, (Romans 11:21,)

what will he do with those which were engrafted? The Jews thought that the kingdom of God dwelt among them by hereditary right, and therefore they adhered obstinately to their vices. We have unexpectedly come into their room contrary to nature, and therefore much less is the kingdom of God bound to us, if it be not rooted in true godliness.

Now as our minds ought to be struck with terror by the threatening of Christ, that those who have profaned the kingdom of God will be deprived of it, so the perpetuity of that kingdom, which is here described, may afford comfort to all the godly. For by these words Christ assures us that, though the ungodly destroyed the worship of God among themselves, they would never cause the name of Christ to be abolished, or true religion to perish; for God, in whose hand are all the ends of the earth, will find elsewhere a dwelling and habitation for his kingdom. We ought also to learn from this passage, that the Gospel is not preached in order that it may lie barren and inoperative, but that it may yield fruit.
