The Pope's creates dissonance or rather confusion regarding how a Christian "should be". He would lead one to believe that we change ourselves. I would find him more credible if he preached that we are changed in, through and by Christ in harmony with the Holy Spirit. We do not and cannot change ourselves. Also, Truth is absolute, it does not become "flexible" to placate the anti-Christ values of the time.
