Prove it. I’ll await any evidence you have.

The Bible.

You doubt that Mary is alive in Heaven?

She's either alive in Heaven, or alive in Hell. If you're a Christian, you have no other choice.

How long you gonna be there?

Not long, I hope.

I always pray to Jesus to cut the time the souls spend in Purgatory. The nuns taught me to pray for the souls in Purgatory, so when they get to Heaven, they'll pray for me when I'm in Purgatory.

It's called being part of "the Communion of Saints."

Yet no mention of them in the NT. Hence, they weren’t used by the early Christians.

Christianity celebrated Sunday as the day of worship due to the resurrection of Christ.

You don’t see what you did here…do you?

I know what you think you see.

But the Bible states that Jesus built his Church on "the rock" Peter, the first Pope. And that Jesus gave Peter and his successors the power to bind and loose.

Jesus empowered his Church to establish rules and traditions. So that's all Biblically based.

Are you saying these souls aren’t saved? You correctly noted the Bible contains all we need for salvation.

IF you believe the Bible our sins are wiped away and nailed to the cross per Colossians 3:14-15. The NT makes it clear we can know we are saved.

The question then becomes do you trust the inspired Word of God and what it says about your salvation?

Start by pointing to the scripture that says Mary can hear prayer.

This is the Captain Obvious part that you guys threw out.

It doesn't say anywhere in Scripture that Sunday is the day of worship or rest, but Protestants all run off to church on Sunday.

I think you are being flexible with your rigor.

If you are going to bounce off of the walls like that, I'll ask you why you chose your FReeper name as the dad of the psuedo-christ from The Rock Opera Tommy, Captain Walker?

Nice attempt to dodge the issue. However you said the following:

“The Bible focuses on information necessary for our Salvation. Lots of trivia is omitted.”

In other words all the extra stuff Rome has added is not necessary for salvation. You’ve proven sola scriptura.

They're saved. But they have to be purified before being permitted into Heaven.

The Catholic Church offers this as one Biblical basis for Purgatory:

Corinthians 3:14–15

If anyone’s work will remain, which he has built up, he will receive a reward; if anyone’s work will be burned up, he will suffer loss. He himself, however, will be saved, but, in this manner: as through fire.

There are many ECFs who disagree with your take on this. As does scripture.

Nobody said praying to Mary was necessary for Salvation. But it helps.

Another RC said the same thing way up this thread.

This has nothing to do with purgatory but is about rewards for deeds done or not done. Context my friend…context.

If not this contradicts Romans where Paul cites the OT regarding the man whose sins have been covered.

However Roman Catholic theology does say the Marian dogmas have to be believed and that you have to go through Mary for salvation. Again, none of which are found in scripture.

There is a Greek word for cousins. It is used once but never describing the brothers and sisters of Jesus.

And Scripture identifies Jesus as Mary's FIRSTBORN son.

And I think that Luke, being a doctor, can differentiate between *firstborn* and *only*.

I pray to BOTH.

Why? Do you think she's going to have influence on Him that anyone else doesn't have?

Or do you think that she will do for you what God won't?

Or don't you believe God's and Jesus promise that God the Father Himself will hear your prayers?

Because everyone knows that if I am applying for a job at a firm where you have been working for the last thirty years and where you have an excellent relationship with the CEO, I would never ask you to hand him my résumé and put in a good word for me.

So God is such a respecter of persons (a sin according to James) that He is swayed and influenced by the opinions of others?

Why do Catholics have such little faith and trust in God and His ability to keep His promises and His love for us?

Typical.

When Catholics are losing a debate, they throw in a little Luther and his opinions as is he is anyone important to non-Catholics as a red herring.

Roman Catholic theology does say ... that you have to go through Mary for salvation.

Does it? I was never taught that in Catholic school.
