Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Matthew 8
Jesus Heals a Man With Leprosy
8 When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. 2 A man with leprosy[a] came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy. 4 Then Jesus said to him, “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our God and Heavenly Father
We Praise Your Holy Name.
You Are From Everlasting to Everlasting
Eternal, Immortal, Infinite
Not Bound By Time or Space
Because You created it all
With a Thought, With a Word, With a Command.
And, Although You created Everything,
From the Galactic Clusters to the Sub-atomic particle,
You Give us Permission to Call You "Abba, Father".
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

I am getting every last mile I can out of my Harley before I have to put it away for the Winter. It's a bit chilly, but if I dress up like Sir Ernest Shackleton, I may be able to squeeze a few more weeks into my riding season. Yesterday was perfect. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and I had five lessons all in the same neighborhood only six miles away. I suited up and hit the road.
Less than a mile from home, I was cut off by a rude driver who pulled out of a parking lot . The young-looking driver then took a position directly in front of me and stayed there for nearly three miles. That wasn't the annoying part. The car seemed to be enveloped in a cloud of marijauna. It was not smoke, but rather the odor of a trunkful of sticky buds of weed. Now, marijuana is legal in Massachusetts, but it is highly regulated and taxed. Obviously, I was riding in a cloud of illegal aroma that was rapidly penetrating my hair and clothing, and I was on my way to teach children! I was getting more and more annoyed by the minute. Finally, he took a right, and I kept going straight. I let the cool breeze cleanse me from head to toe and arrived at my destination smelling like a fresh, crisp, Autumn Day.
What used to be called "Leprosy" is now called Hanson's Disease. It is treatable and doesn't carry the stigma of Biblical Times. But, in those days, there was no known treatment, and, since it is contageous like many diseases, required quarantine. The priests were charged with the judgement as to whether or not a person had recovered from the illness, and when the quarantine coud be lifted. A large part of the Book of Leviticus is dedicated to instructions as to how to discharge these duties. There are also sections devoted to mold and mildew, contageon containment, proper disposal of waste, and judgment of domestic disputes. In no way are the people taught to treat the victims of disease with contempt, and yet, that's what happened. Lepers were viewed with horror, and isolated into "Leper Colonies". For this Leper to even approach Jesus in public was a revolutionary act. It was akin to the Woman with the Issue of Blood, who touched Jesus's garment. Both of these afflicted people were risking a lot more than ostracism in order to be healed. They were, in fact, breaking the law. In our modern world, we say we would never act like that!
Or would we?
I'll never forget March, 2020, when our whole Nation went into Lockdown. It was supposed to be "15 Days To Stop The Spread". Fifteen was a good estimate, because even the word "Quarantine" comes from the 2-Week period (the word is derived from the number 14 in French) that seemed to be sufficient for a virus to run its course through the contageous period. It made medical and historical sense, and we all went along with it. The President, believing in the Old-Fashioned definition of a "Vaccine", (a preventive medicine that derives from either a live or killed virus that stimulates the body's natural immune response, providing lifetime immunity), lifted a lot of regulations and promised the vaccine free to all Americans. This was an Old-Fashioned response to an Old-Fashioned Problem, and made sense to us Boomers who owed our very lives to the Polio Vaccine of the early 1950's.
But then things started to change. The 15 days came and went, and we were confined to our homes, contact traced, forced to wear masks, and worst of all, noticing very unpleasant side effects from the new "vaccine". Some people began to question the wisdom of the government policies, and the motivations of the Big Pharmaceutical Industries. These folks were immediately labeled "Anti-Science. They were ridiculed, isolated, and banned from normal life. Some lost their jobs, Some were fined or jailed. If the first COVID Case in the USA was in November 2019, as theorized, we are coming up onto the Third Anniversay of this new way of "Treating People Like Lepers". It has infected our culture and our society in a way that may take a Major Miracle to correct.
The odor of Skunk-Weed would have marked me as an unfit teacher for children. If that miasma had been encircling me as I walked into thier homes and sat at the piano, I would have been terminated on the spot (just as boozy breath would!). But, Thank Goodness, the fresh aroma of Autumn Leaves at a good clip of 40MPH cleansed me from head-to-toe, and I wasn't a "leper" anymore.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

2020 and following, it seemed the doors of hell were wide open...or it became more obvious.
As Jesus heals the leper, our nation needs healing.

Good Morning Everybody.
I don’t know what I did to myself, but my whole Right side shoulder, neck, and arm are in terrible pain. I took an anti-inflammatory, and put my arm in a sling, but I am having difficulty even typing this.
I will post Today’s thread, perhaps later in the day, or hold over till tomorrow.
I’ve GOT to stop rearranging furniture, raking leaves, and building rock walls. Grrrrrrr.
Grace and Peace to you all.
