Four people were critically injured in a lightning strike on Thursday evening at Lafayette Park directly across the street from the White House.
Vito Maggiolo, a spokesperson for DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, said in a news conference Thursday evening.
“All four were suffering critical, life-threatening injuries,” when help arrived, said Maggiolo, who was unable to provide additional details about the incident or the victims’ conditions.

I guess that Divine anger is likely to be far more impressive than a random lightning strike. Flood the earth. Destroy with fire from the sky etc.

What were they doing in the park, I know it well, when it was raining like that? The only people that are usually there during inclement weather are either homeless or they are dedicated protestors.

I would more think that God directing a ,ightening strike to destroy the George floyd memorial painting onmthe side of a building was a direct strike, not a random strike thst hits a few people. Natur happens, God allows it, and mostly it rains on the just and unjust alike. There are times God may direct nature, but I think mostly he just let’s it play out how it will. Peopl,e in the wrong place at the wrong time. The geroge floyd strike memorial though was kinds different
Divine anger? Well maybe if the Greek god Zues or norse god Thor were real. The God of the Bible is not known for using lightning, and even if He did, He certainly wouldn’t miss.
I don’t think the children grandchildren and great grandchildren of the couple killed, in their 70’s and married over 4 decades ( on an anniversary trip) would appreciate their deaths being attributed to “ divine anger”

Or they are tourists caught in a park by the WH, in a storm of which violence they underestimated ….and tried to wait it out under some trees

The same thing happened to us years ago but we took refuge in the portal of the Library of Congress instead of under a tree. It was awesome hearing thunder in the mall.
