ABSTRACT: Jesus of Nazareth underwent Jewish and Roman trials, was flogged, and was sentenced to death by crucifixion. The scourging produced deep stripelike lacerations and appreciable blood loss, and it probably set the stage for hypovolemic shock as evidenced by the fact that Jesus was too weakened to carry the crossbar (patibulum) to Golgotha. At the site of crucifixion his wrists were nailed to the patibulum, and after the patibulum was lifted onto the upright post, (stipes) his feet were nailed to the stipes. The major pathophysiologic effect of crucifixion was an interference with normal respirations. Accordingly, death resulted primarily from hypovolemic shock and exhaustion asphyxia. Jesus’ death was ensured by the thrust of a soldier’s spear into his side. Modern medical interpretation of the historical evidence indicates that that Jesus was dead when taken down from the cross. It is getting dark. Time to tend to Jesus’ body...
I love the picture. :)
That is a very significant post.
THIS is the first reply.
The evidence is incontrovertible.
So THEY are speechless.
It’s like this: They look into a mirror, see how they look, and walk away forgetting what they JUST saw.
The demonic control is evident... but God has the power to enlighten their hearts. Pray that He will.
I was tempted to "do the math" myself, and while one per second is hardly conceivable even by punching, via the latter then it is conceivable over the course of many hours. But while such remains a "private revelation" at best, what is Scriptural is that,
"As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider." (Isaiah 52:14-15)
Thanks and glory be to God. May the Lamb receive the reward of His sufferings.
