This is a lie. The poorly named Large Binocular Telescope Near-infrared Utility with Camera and Integral Field Unit for Extragalactic Research (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_Binocular_Telescope) is operated by the University of Arizona, the University of Minnesota, the University of Virginia, and Ohio State among others without the involvement of the Vatican. Although the Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vatican_Advanced_Technology_Telescope) is on the same mountain and is also part of the Mount Graham International Observatory (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Graham_International_Observatory) complex, they are different systems and independently funded.

Folks who scoff at a Pre-Tribulation Rapture have an awful difficult time believing The Lord literally cannot Judge His People with the wicked. It’s impossible and cannot happen.
They’ll use all sorts of verses in Revelation (past chapter 4 of course) and the Olivet Discourse (which doesn’t describe the Church during the Tribulation).
He used Noah and Lot for a very specific reference when discussing the Harpazo.

This is the Next Big Thing in The Great Reset. Even if they had an alien spacecraft land on the White House lawn, it would be met with a collective yawn. Just like the Congressional report that came out several months ago - that lasted about one news cycle before it went back into the Tinfoil Hat filing cabinet. Jesus Himself could come back to save us all, but would have a hard time getting any media traction in this outhouse of a society we live in.

Agreed. But Iām not trying to make a straw man argument with the term. Iām saying that there will be no need to explain away the rapture to the inhabitants of the earth (with ideas like alien abduction even IF such an idea IS used to deceive people). They will not wonder where believers went. They will know that Jesus came and took them out because āevery eye will see Him.ā
Everyone who is left here will weep and wail. But some of these will be in the sorrow of repentance. The remnant of Jews who have not yet turned to Christ will ālook on Him whom they have piercedā and weep tears of repentance. Many Gentiles will also. But many will also have already ultimately rejected Christ and have taken the antichrist mark. Some may remain undecided even then perhaps. But ALLārich, poor, free, slave, etc.āwill hide underground in hopes of escaping the coming wrath.

What does ākeepingā the elect mean? Does it mean always escaping the pains and sorrows of fighting false prophets and teachers, the effects of war, disease, betrayal, persecution, etc.? It means preserving our faith.

In the same discourse Jesus told His disciples that some would be imprisoned and even killed, yet not a hair on their heads would perish. So, in a way, you CAN have it both ways.
When Paul revealed the mystery of the rapture of living believers he said āwe shall not ALL sleep.ā That is, some of us are going to make it to the very end. We will not be raised from the grave. We will not die. This is not for all believers, but for how many ever last-generation believers make it until the return of Christ. It is appointed for people to die once, but there are some exceptions.

Not only will antichrist not be successful in either forcing everyone to take the mark or be killed, there will even be some who do not take the mark who are not believers in Christ when the rapture occurs and are therefore not taken.
Throughout the history of the church there has been persecution which included slander, plundering of possession, fines, assaults, imprisonment, torture, and martyrdom, but these did not result in the number of believers diminishing.
The church has also experienced all of the trials and tribulations of the Olivet discourse to some extent, including even the many antichrists that have arisen since the early church days. Likewise for the 7 seals of Revelation (or at least the first 5). But the church has not and never will experience the wrath of God expressed as fire from Heaven like Sodom experienced and like the 7 trumpet and bowl judgments contain.
But there are a couple of unique signs the church has not experienced. The revelation of the antichrist by the abomination of desolation, and the cataclysmic signs from heaven which include a solar and lunar eclipse. These will bookend the Great Tribulation. One of these (the abomination of desolation) Paul points out in 2 Thessalonians 2 must occur BEFORE the Day of the Lord (which arrives when the rapture happens).
If you study the Day of the Lord in scripture, you will find that it is distinct from the Great Tribulation. This is the key to correctly understanding the timing of the rapture of the church. The church will face the antichrist.

Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.
Christ and the apostles warned us about antichrists and the antichrist for a reason. Itās not merely academic. Itās practical. We must have a mindset to endure.
Many true believers may not be ready to accept this reality yet. Unfortunately, there are some nominal believers whose faith is not yet rooted and will fall away when the time of trials and persecution comes. This why the true Gospel needs to be coupled with correct doctrine for living the Christian life and with accurate eschatology. A person who is told to come to Christ for forgiveness and āyour best life nowā health, wealth, prosperity, and a trouble-free life is NOT on solid ground. Perhaps for many ābelieversā faith does not take root immediately upon receiving the Gospel but later MAY take root as such erroneous expectations are corrected. This is why Iām not a pan-tribulationist (i.e. it will all pan out on the end). Correcting the error of pretribulational rapture will make a practical difference in the eternal destiny of many professing Christians.
(Iām not trying to be confrontational or provocative by arguing this viewpoint, as I am confident you are a true believer and follower of Christ. But I also believe there are big things at stake. There are practical ramifications for the Gospel message AND how Christians should conduct themselves and prepare for the end times.)
