Merry Christmas, from your merciless, apostate pope.
Ping
The church is as messed up as the USA government. El poopa and Biden...two dictators are ruling the world.
Pope a dope says “OMG! OmiCON!”
Crazy. Prevent a priest from saying mass but give communion to abortion supporters.
The “pope” should go to work for the NFL, the only organization in the world more afraid of the Fauci Flu than is the “pope’s” company.
Many have said it seems like these anti-Traditionalist promulgations are coming with a frequency and intensity of someone dying.
If so, the REAL question is, what will the next Pope do with all this?
I’m torn between posting a GIF from Bambi involving Thumper and his Mother, and a poem by Belloc, which would send nearly conflicting messages, fitting as I am torn myself.
However, as I don’t know how to post a GIF, if anyone else knows what I am talking about, please do so.
Here’s the poem.
Heretics all, whoever you may be,
In Tarbes or Nimes, or over the sea,
You never shall have good words from me.
Caritas non conturbat me.
But Catholic men that live upon wine
Are deep in the water, and frank, and fine;
Wherever I travel I find it so,
Benedicamus Domino.
On childing women that are forelorn,
And men that sweat in nothing but scorn:
That is on all that ever were born,
Miserere Domine.
To my poor self on my deathbed,
And all my dear companions dead,
Because of the love that I bore them,
Dona Eis Requiem.
Hilaire Belloc
Welcome to another year of “cancel-brations.”
What this means practically I do not know.
But I and my family am not giving up the Latin Mass. Ever. Period. End of story.
If they intend to prevent us, they better get handy with a halberd.
“But I and my family am not giving up the Latin Mass. Ever. Period. End of story.”
I’m with you. And what it also means is that until these unjust prohibitions on the TLM are removed, I refuse to in any way participate in or patronize the Novus Ordo (other than maybe an occasional funeral or wedding, at which I’ll be a stranger in a strange land like the non-Catholics in attendance).
If possible, you should find yourself a dedicated TLM oratory or “parish” that is organized under the FSSP or ICKSP. Those will be in a better position to endure in the U.S. — especially in places where the church property is owned by an independent group of lay Catholics and not by the diocese.
‘First and foremost, I would point out that any TLM arrangement in a “mixed” Novus Ordo parish is far from ideal anyway, and it was only a matter of time before these arrangements disappeared anyway.’
I respectfully disagree. I feel like the “mixed” arrangement works well at my parish. The TLMers and Novus-ers get along and attend the same parish dinners, anti-abortion marches, etc. Having the TLM integrated into regular parish life has drawn the curious from the Novus Ordo to check it out and also exposed them to TLM people who are “normal,” not the fire-breathing weirdos that Bergoglio and company imagine. I’m not going to name names, but my parish is one that featured in the recent “Mass of the Ages, part 1” documentary film. It’s precisely the success of co-existence that has the Vatican all in a tizzy and working feverishly to crack down on us.
Toxic, evil, and fascist.
I joined SSPV last June.
That's not exactly what it said. What it said is that a priest cannot binate (say two Masses in one day) on a day when he would normally not be permitted to (e.g., a weekday) in order to say mass in both the 1970 and 1962 Missal. It does not prohibit a priest from saying an NO Mass and a TLM on Sundays or major holidays, when bination is normally permitted.
Why couldn’t a priest offer two public Masses on a weekday?
I see that all the time.
In my experience, there seem to be an inordinate number of conversions from High Anglicanism among the TLM people I’ve known. After speaking with them I can tell you that they never would have converted to Catholicism if the “Novus Ordo church” was the only option for them.
He would need explicit permission from the bishop to do that. (By weekday, we of course aren’t including major holy days which happen to fall on a weekday.)
