Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Matthew 4
Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness
4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[b]”
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[c]”
7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[d]”
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]”
11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
Blessed Are You,
Oh LORD, Our God,
King of The Universe
You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The One True God
Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent,
There is No One Like You.
Oh How They Conspire together, Father,
Against You and Your Beloved!
They Hate You and Your Law,
How Much More So Do They Despise Your Servants?
Give Us Peace in Our Hearts When We Look at These Situations,
And Give Us Insight into What Is REALLY Going On.
Open Our Eyes to The Spiritual Warfare that Is Taking Place,
So That We Will Be Armed Properly,
And not take these attacks personally.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
Let all that has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.
God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

I made a careless mistake yesterday, as I forgot to ping you all to the Thread. Here is the link to yesterday's Thread: Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem 12/7/21
Today is a new day, and so let's talk about today's story.
How many times have you been deep in prayer and suddenly a stray thought sends you down a different path? I'll bet everyone will answer that this has happened to to him. As we can see from today's reading this even happened to Jesus, as He prepared Himself for ministry. The Tempter attacked on three fronts:
1. The Body: There are some religions that say that the body is evil and only the spiritual counts. This was even a heresy in the early Church. But our bodies house our souls and our spirit, and are the Temple of The Holy Spirit if we are believers. Our bodies have certain needs, and when we fast, we deny those needs for a time to heighten our awareness of the Devine. A fast is NOT a "Hunger Strike" to force God to do our will. When Jesus fasted in the desert, He was not "punishing" Himself, because he was without sin. Never are we told in Scripture to harm ourselves, starve ourselves to death, cut ourselves when in mourning, or put things in our bodies that harm us. So the Fast of Jesus was a Voluntary Spiritual Exercise on His part, as a preparation for lay ahead. Nevertheless, He was really hungry, and the Tempter thought that he could use that hunger to cause Jesus to sin.
2. The Soul: My Soul is what makes me, "ME". It is my Mind, my Emotions, my Personality, the sum of my experiences, my Memories, and my Conscience. Freud tried to define it as The Ego, The Id, and the Superego. (He fell short, in my humble opinion. There's more to it than that!) Just as the Tempter tried to entice a hungry Jesus with bread, he tried to tempt Jesus's Soul by testing His faith. "Jump off the temple!" he sneers. "Don't you believe that God will pick you up? Isn't that what it says in Your Book?"
3. The Spirit: There is a part of us that needs to worship God. That is our Spirit. The Tempter tried to divert Jesus from Communion with His Father and get Jesus to worship him. That was the last straw. "BEGONE SATAN" is Jesus's response.
Now, since this series is about Prayer, let's look at the distractions that creep into our own prayer life:
1. The Body: In these troubled times, we have been saddled with a burden of fear for our bodies. Worries about money, food, shelter, diseases, pandemics, vaccines, fake news, jobs, deception, and the fate of our nation can really mess up a good prayer. Worry is the antithesis of Faith. While we need to be responsible providers for our families, we mustn't let Worry be our default position.
2. The Soul: What we believe, what we know, what we say, and what we do are all connected to our Soul. The evil one would like to challenge all of that with his lies. While it's OK to learn new things and grow in our opinions, there is a Truth to which we must hold fast.
3. The Spirit: Since we all need to Worship, the Tempter is always there to provide distractions. Money, Family, Celebrities, Sports Figures, Politicians, Friends, Fame, Fortune, Sexuality, Ourselves...they all would love your worship. But Only The One True God is WORTHY of Worship.
So, how do we deal with these distractions when they rise up? The simple answer is, the Way Jesus did...with The Word of God. Even when the Tempter misquotes Scripture to get Jesus to sin, he is countered with a correctly applied Scripture that thwarts him. This is why Bible study is so important. It is the process of hiding the Word in our hearts so it is there when we need it most.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Amen !!! <><
Psalm 146
1 Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord, O my soul!
2 I will praise the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praises to my God all my life long.
3 Do not put your trust in princes,
in mortals, in whom there is no help.
4 When their breath departs, they return to the earth;
on that very day their plans perish.
5 Happy are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord their God,
6 who made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them;
who keeps faith for ever;
7 who executes justice for the oppressed;
who gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets the prisoners free;
8 the Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
the Lord loves the righteous.
9 The Lord watches over the strangers;
he upholds the orphan and the widow,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.
10 The Lord will reign for ever,
your God, O Zion, for all generations.
Praise the Lord!
