Churchgoers had just come out of Sunday morning mass where they learned their Pastor Gregory Loughney had been arrested.
CRESCO, Pa. — "These things are unpredictable; you never know what it happens," said Estelle Yessoh, Pocono Farms.

"I hope it's not true because nothing like that should be happening," said Marie Herd of Tobyhanna.
Arrest papers show that Pastor Gregory Loughney thought he had been communicating online with a 15-year-old boy that he met on Tinder. He allegedly arranged to meet with the teen at a business Friday night. That's where he was arrested.
He is charged with attempted statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors, and related counts.
"It is really sad to hear it, but we are all human, and as a Christian, we always say, you know, we get tempted by the devil," said Yessoh.
At Most Holy Trinity Parish, parishioners say the priest has been a part of their church family for years.
"The parish is really supportive to the family, and we also have to say the prayer for the priest because no matter what, it's still a human being that went through things," Yessoh said.
"Father Gregory, he's very, very nice. I don't know what's going on, what happened," added Herd.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I didn’t think Catholics used the term Pastor.
No kidding. I’ve been hearing about this since I was a teen and allowed to watch the news. That was the mid 80s.
Typically, a bishop of a diocese appoints a priest, who may use the honorific “Father,” to be the pastor of a parish within the diocese. The bishop might appoint Fr. Smith the pastor of St. Thomas Catholic Church.
The Priest that’s in charge of a parish is it’s Pastor. “Father” is an honorific.
It may be that it is presently a magnet for both.
It’s hard to take your priest seriously at confession time when you know in his apartment are pin-ups of Boys’ Life centerfolds, a Kirk Douglas “Spartacus” poster, a complete collection of Judy Garland albums, a rainbow flag, a half-bottle of Viagra and he’s got several Ben-Wa balls shoved up his kiester with a matching Prince Albert ‘round front. Just sayin’...

The pervert was caught red-handed attempting to engage in sex with a minor. That, in and of itself, is a crime. How many times did he not get caught? Do you really want this scumbag in your church?! The trial is just a formality.
