The rapid decline in biblical lifespans Mathematics tells us the numbers are not made up

The dramatic decline in human lifespan after the Flood has been studied by many scholars. However, most studies only focus on the chronogenealogies of Genesis 5 and 11, which go from Adam to Terah, the father of Abraham. Yet, it is possible to add multiple additional generations by considering the details given to us in the rest of the Old Testament. The remaining data not only support the Genesis narrative, but they argue strongly that the lifespans in Genesis were not a creative invention of some early scribe.

The Institute for Creation Research (https://www.icr.org/) offers some interesting reasoning for why this happened.

When the Noahic flood occurred, the "waters above the earth collapsed", resulting in the elimination of a water vapor barrier that kept the climate uniform all over the globe.

This could explain the quick freeze effect that left many large animals, including herbivores like the hairy mastodon, quick frozen with live plant material still in their mouths (the hair by the way was not to protect them from the cold. The hairs were hollow and acted to take heat away from the animal and keep them cool).

The waters below the earth that burst forth, covering the tallest mountain peaks by some 21 feet, all subject to the mixing bowl effect of currents, the effect of the moon, all worked together to form the unusual fossil record we have today.

The fossil record has never been satisfactorily explained by the theory of evolution, which is nothing more than a lie to refute the fact that there is a God, and He was not happy with the wickedness of the human race.

How evil could some of our politicians become if they lived to be 200 or 300?

Hollow hair is a dead air-space insulator. Elephants keep cool by being relatively hairless.

And even so, they employ evaporation to cool down when they can.

Ele keeps cool by a) having very thick skin and b) by covering himself with mud, c) lounging in the shade much of the day.

Haired or not, critters have mechanisms, both physiologic and environmental to either warm or cool themselves.

One size does not fit.

just to cheer up the conversation a bit,

some people believe Adam and Eve didn’t know anything about sex until the Christian “fall”

if that were the case, then there’s been more and more sex going on ever since (just look around your local junior or senior high school, and online sex videos are second in volume only to cute cats)

so... it appears maybe that
the more sex, the shorter your lifespan?

that will cheer us up, eh?
smile smile smile smile smile

have happy day
(wonder why priests don’t live longer?)

It’s true that elephants aren’t furry, although they do have hair. Asian elephants have more noticeable hair than do African ones. So far, I’ve only heard from a number of safari guides that they regulate their temperature via their ear flapping.

My Unscientific Speculation: When there were only a few people walking the earth, many individuals lived much longer than average, and produced more children than average. As the earth became heavily populated with human’s, the average lifespan was sharply reduced over a few generations.
Perhaps there was less food to be distributed than before.

Rod Stewart the rocker, would disagree with that conclusion. He’s what? In his late 70s, and is still siring new children with each new wife. He always seems surprised when it happens.

Apparently not since he became very wealthy. No self respecting Gold Digger is going to pass up a chance like that.

Extraordinary timing.

Just send summary condensation of Genesis 6 and 7 to family member by txt yesterday and today.

Consider: Noah was 500 YO when he had his three sons and God told him to build the ark. It took him 100 years and he was 600 YO when the Flood occurred.

Did someone at some point say that Abraham’s father Terah— according to rabbinical tradition — was also the same king of Salem—Michezeldik whom Abraham tithed?

Bet he passes away in the next ten years

He's 76 years old. That's a pretty safe bet.

Sure, large ears act as radiators. Nothing like good old evaporation to cool down, though. Since elephants don’t perspire, they soak and bathe.
