‘Transaction denied’: Get ready for credit card that cuts off spending once you hit your CO2 max

The company that created a credit card to track your purchases’ CO2 emissions is set to launch a “premium” version of the card that cuts off your spending as soon as you hit your “carbon max.”

This is the latest of many schemes to force major changes in human behaviour to allegedly lessen global warming. Social scientist and author Steven Mosher has called the global warming movement a “giant propaganda effort” and “the biggest scientific fraud ever perpetrated on the family of man.”

Doconomy has partnered with Mastercard and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to create technology for the everyday consumer that “connects the purchase price of a product with the effect on the planet measured in Kg CO2, and then recommends the amount to offset – practically putting a price on carbon,” as the Doconomy website explains.

The DO credit card works hand-in-hand with a phone app, launched in April 2019, that quantifies the CO₂ emissions generated from each credit card transaction. The website introduces the card with video footage of whitewashed, typical consumer goods floating, like trash, as if through space, each labeled with a carbon emissions number.

I moved my account to a small east Texas bank, just in case.

Very stupid and no likely to get much use. I suspect a chunk of the wealthy liberals will get one to show how green they are but then use another card when that one maxes out.

Just another virtue signal.

Then it shuts off your car mid-trip and leaves you stranded.

Heck, the Xiden economy will do that all by itself.

Wonder if celebrity cards will cut off spending by January 2?

What if you used your CC to rent a hooker? Do they check each one for carbon outputs? And various gas emissions? Will food be rated also like milk? Some of us are lactose intolerant and how to they find out how milk effects each person? Will they include bio metrics on each card holder to stop us from buying said products? What if we were buying milk for the neighbor while we are in town?

So many questions and so few answers.

This is why they want to do away with cash, so you can’t bypass their prison.

The problem is that cell phones are becoming the only way to engage in certain transactions. That’s the only way you can get into a Seattle Seahawks game; the ticket is on your cell phone. And this year you need to be vaxxed as well. Needless to say, I’ve been to my last game.

That’s nothing. Wait until we go cashless and businesses can cut you off and governments can turn off your bank accounts for wrong-think.

Can’t even remember how many years ago Michael Savage and others had sponsor’s ad “Any time you use cash of a certain amount the bank and retail establishment report you as a possible criminal. Assume it must be suspicious activity if you paid cash.”

Set up for the monitored and limited social credit score linked cards.

I refuse to put any apps on my phone—and I only bring it with me when absolutely necessary (for calling ahead of an appointment), for example.

But—the technology is _very_ dangerous, and should be handled with extreme care.

IF this insanity is enacted, I think it will be very tough on real estate market—people buy homes and some say you will spend equivalent of first years’ mortgage payments in outfitting/furnishing etc. the new home...

When we last moved, in a couple of years we had installed a new roof, fence, A/C-Furnace, and patio...not to mention things like replacing appliances, etc. No way would that be allowed under such a system.

So what do they want? Leaky roof leading to mold damage/medical issues? Freeze to death? Eh don’t need to answer—we know what they want :(

This idea is right up their with States that give you an option of paying a higher income tax rate. Virtually no one is stupid enough to take the virtue-signaling option when it costs real money.

I’ve got to laugh at this. About all this is going to do is chase people into other credit sources and break any of the major cards that participate.

Generic card companies like MC, Visa, and Discover do not use a local source retailer. Many retailers are building their own gasoline outlets like Costco and providing their own credit capacity. And they don’t want to go out of business for a political reason. So get ready for the lines when MC pisses off its customers.

And another interesting addition is that cards like the Circle K Universal Card that can save on every gallon of fuel across the largest U.S. network of convenience stores, is also accepted at over 6,000 Circle K locations nationwide and accepted at 95% of U.S. gas stations with it’s own accounting capacity better than the current major card companies with more features and better communication.

You might want to start shopping for a new credit card company and tell MC to go fly an asset.

Yep. Like driving a “green” car or supporting wind turbines, neither of which are actually environment friendly.

Sure, otherwise one tank of JP4 and Algore would be grounded.

So, how is that going to work when grandma and grandpa pull off the freeway in New Jersey or New York to get gas late at night, nearly out of gas, on their way home, and the credit card says no!
