For his part, the pope appeared to go out of his way in his last two public appearances to try to clear up what the Vatican considers a misunderstanding.

I doubt this vermin has ever said anything similar about Islam and the Koran.

From a Biblical perspective, according to Scripture, speaking as one who is Born Again in the Shed Blood of Jesus Christ, there is far more validity to the Torah then there is to the added books of Roman catholicism.

I’m Jewish, but although I’m no fan of Pope Francis, have no problem with his statement. I don’t agree with him, but if he accepted Jewish law as the final word, there’d be no room for Christianity.

By definition, Christians believe that the word of Christ goes beyond the Torah.

Seemed clear that the Pope was only rejecting Matthew 5:17-18 for purposes related to his own religion, not Judaism.

Francis has his faults, but anti-Semitism is not one of them.

These thin-skinned or opportunistic whiners need to be ignored. Pius XII was not "Hitler's Pope" and neither Pat Buchanan nor Joe Sobran were anti-Semitic.

Some of these chosen ones are whinier than BLM or the LGBT freaks. They need to get at least one life let alone a second one.

The confusion and ignorance on this thread is astounding and disappointing. It appears almost no one here who calls himself a Christian even understands that The Word informs the Torah, the Psalms, the Books of Wisdom and the prophets; the gospels and the apostles, and the Revelation of John Patmos.

Y’all need to read The Gospel of St. John and what’s more important, understand the Gospel of St John. and that includes the idiot Bergoglio.

I was reading the article, and kept reading Vulcan instead of Vatican.

Last month Reuters reported exclusively that Rabbi Rasson Arousi, chair of the Commission of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel for Dialogue with the Holy See, had written a stern letter to the Vatican, saying Francis' comments appeared to suggest that the Torah, or Jewish law, was obsolete.

This is exactly what Catholicism, and most versions of chrstianity, teach. So what???

Jews don't need the Vatican's permission to keep the Torah, and even if they were to change the teaching the religion would not be one more bit true.

I don't understand why any Orthodox (especially Charedi) rabbi would participate in ecumenism. Ecumenism says all religions are equally true. This is simply not so. Jews should bring all non-Jews to the Noahide Laws, not try to liberalize what they already believe.

Do these rabbis believe that when every religion out there recognizes the validity of every other religion that G-d will be pleased?

I'll never understand it.
