Ex-Cardinal Theodore McCarrick — the former archbishop of Washington, DC, who was kicked out of the priesthood over sex abuse allegations — has been charged with molesting a teenage boy in Massachusetts in the 1970s.
The charges filed Wednesday make McCarrick, 91, the highest-ranking Roman Catholic official in the US to face criminal raps in the clergy sex abuse scandal, according to the Boston Globe.
The predatory priest is accused of groping a 16-year-old boy’s genitals on June 8, 1974, during the wedding reception of the teen’s brother at Wellesley College.
McCarrick allegedly told the boy that he “needed to go to confession” and led him into a room, where he proceeded to assault him while “saying prayers to make me feel holy,” the teen told police.
The investigation into McCarrick began in January after the alleged victim’s attorney, Mitchell Garabedian, wrote letters to the Norfolk and Middlesex district attorneys.

Thank-you. But you don’t need to tell me how to pray.
After all, they’re my prayers, not yours.
No. Jesus delegated to Peter and the 11.
He also delegated to Paul. Why wasn’t Paul chosen to take the place of Judas?
Lol! Yes ebb, they are your prayers. And your life. And your salvation
And your eternity.
Choose wisely.
There are no do-overs. No matter how long you’ve believed in pergatory. Unless you care to prove that in scripture.
What difference, at this point, does it make?
What difference, at this point, does Christ’s crucifixion make?
After all, it was over 2,000 years ago?
Matthew 28:18: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost
Christ does not say, write a book and hand it out; He said go and teach. What were the Apostles to teach? What they had been taught by Christ, which we now call the teachings of the Church.
The Bible is a Catholic-based book, not the other way around. The Bible is a collection of writings which propsoed to tell the story of Jesus and of the early Church, and letters from the Apostles to the individual churches, not a manual of Christian teaching.
John 14:6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Christ did not say that He is several ways or various truths.
There is *one* way, *one* truth. It seems clear that if there are two understandings of some part of Scripture, one at least must be incorrect.
Luke 10:16: He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
Do you think God will let those who despise Him into Heaven?
What’s pergatory?
I’ve never heard of that word.
Where are you getting this mistaken information?
I’m paraphrasing here, Christ said to Simon, “You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church.”
Christ breathed on the apostles, the first bishops, giving them the power to forgive sins. That’s in scripture, too!
Please read your Bible a little more carefully, or do you use a changed Bible (Luther’s doing”) that changed words and took out books?
Paul was doing his own thing with the Gentiles. I’ll take Jesus’ words over Paul’s any day.
I’m not even going to begin to try to untwist the hopelessly tangled wad of false teachings, lazy refusals to search the scriptures, not doctrines of men, for truth, and blind acceptance of deceiving leaders who are obviously sin ladened and proud of it.
I’ll just say 2 Timothy 2:15 could be the best friend you’ve ever had, if you would just heed the words.
The Catholic Church is NOT located in one building, in fact there are more than 20 churches in alignment with Rome. They are called Rites. Perhaps you have a Maronite Church in your area.
Thank you for saying "In my opinion". I respect that because your previous words were "You will hear...". You have zero knowledge of what I would hear. That's extremely ignorant and presumptuous, and you should know that because every "house" is different. Plus, not only does Catholicism depart from Jesus, it creates human invented nonsense that you hold on to, based on non scriptural tradition. Seriously, if you met Jesus tomorrow, do you think he'd care about your status or mentality about the "church" or with Him?
Salvation, Paul’s words WERE Jesus’ words. He spoke to Paul by direct revelation from heaven, and gave him ministry to the Gentiles, the Gospel of the Grace of God.
Christ spoke to Paul AFTER He spoke to Peter. Don’t you understand the importance of that. It’s the LAST orders of the Leader that is followed not prior orders. The most recent one is his order.
But of course you don’t know that. That would force you into the uncomfortable position of searching the scriptures to see if these things are so. Better to stay in comfortable ignorance of God’s word, I guess. Plus the recipes of the monthly saints are so tasty.
Believers of man-made religions are easily deceived by false beliefs.
Peter and the apostles were the leaders of the Catholic Church, originally called The Way.
Which year was your church established, so how can your man-made church be connected to the Apostles?
Scripture indicates that the apostles endowed bishops and elders with their special authority to teach. We see the earliest evidence of the apostles conferring authority in the account of the appointing of Judas’s replacement:
Matthias was chosen to replace Judas. Acts 1:23=26
In his first letter to Timothy, a bishop—in which Paul calls the Church “the pillar and bulwark of the truth” (1 Tim. 3:15)—he instructs him, “Till I come, attend to the public reading of scripture, to preaching, to teaching. Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophetic utterance when the council of elders laid their hands upon you. Practice these duties, devote yourself to them, so that all may see your progress. Take heed to yourself and to your teaching; hold to that, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers” (1 Tim. 4:13–16).
The one sent by the Lord does not speak and act on his own authority but by virtue of Christ’s authority; not as a member of the community but speaking to it in the name of Christ. No one can bestow grace on himself; it must be given and offered. This fact presupposes ministers of grace, authorized and empowered by Christ. From him, bishops and priests receive the mission and faculty (“the sacred power”) to act in persona Christi Capitis; deacons receive the strength to serve the people of God in the diaconia of liturgy, word, and charity, in communion with the bishop and his presbyterate. The ministry in which Christ’s emissaries do and give by God’s grace what they cannot do and give by their own powers is called a “sacrament” by the Church’s tradition. Indeed, the ministry of the Church is conferred by a special sacrament. (CCC 875)
You still did not answer the questions, nor did you deny the authority granted to the Catholic Church.
OMG do you really think I was saying the catholic church is located in ONE building??!!?
It’s even worse than I thought.
*😳*
I hope you know I was sarcastically quoting the smartest woman of all time.
My church was established about it 63 A.D. By Paul. From direct revelation of Jesus Christ, Who gave to Paul the dispensation of the Grace of God and the building of the Church the Body of Christ.
Thank you for asking
BOOM! EXACTLY! SMVoice, I might get admonished by Jesus, when I meet Him, but I will never understand the fight by many here for the promotion of ancient man-made Catholicism. To me, Jesus is an Individual Rep from God whom I have a relationship with; He admonishes me. We talk. Catholics, whom I know, barely have any relationship with the Pope.
No way
My apologies. I did not catch the sarcasm.
