Was "the plan" to expel God from the Garden of Eden (Bible Thumper caucus)
FPO

Posted on 06/16/2021 4:47:03 PM PDT by Faith Presses On

After all, Satan's bait was that Adam and Eve would become as gods. And together with Satan, that would seem to them to be at least two or possibly three gods (if Satan was believed to be a god as well) against one.

Satan has been bound. The decision “who wins” eternally is not a question. God allows each of us to decide which way we choose to go: eternal life with him, or unending misery with Satan.

As long as God allows each of us to decide, Satan cannot be bound. He will be bound for the thousand years of the Millennium until near the end when he will again be allowed to do what he does. What makes you think he is bound now when all the evidence we are experiencing daily says otherwise?

The plan unfolded exactly as it was meant to.

Since God gave him authority over all creation, he could have simply ordered Satan to leave and that would have been the end of it.

...but he didn’t. He did the only thing that would allow him to stay with Eve. He partook. How perceptive of you.

The devil is a fool!

Aren’t we all! Thankfully there is repentance and an Atonement.

Adam was always subject to death. Immortality cannot be tempory.

You know this how?

I suppose that’s better than being reported to the FR Pharisee Law Enforcement Dept?

She gave some to her husband, who was with her.

No, he could have stopped her and Satan.

He was with her when she ate. He knew what she was going to do and the minute she picked the fruit, he should have put a stop to it.

If we believe the spirit of a man is in his soul of the man, then you could say the spirit was in the soul of the OT prophets. But the Holy Spirit was ‘upon’ the spirit not IN the spirit, not even with Moses. Until the Cross the Holy Spirit has not been in a man, except maybe Melchizadek because he had an eternal status as a priest forever.

Adam did not give in to Eve. He acted on his own prerogative; he was not tempted as Eve was.

You are assuming the garden was a 10 ft x 10 ft vegetable plot. Elephants, tigers and bears don’t fit into a vegetable plot.

correction: He did the only thing that he “perceived” would allow him to stay with Eve. That was his down fall, he did not see God as God.

What part of “with her” is too hard to understand?

Sin is always conceived in the heart before being given birth in the actions.
Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
The desire to sin is also sin and must be dealt with before we can enter the Kingdom of God. Timing is important. Sin entered by one man, what about Eve? Was Adam condemned before he ate the fruit? In Adam all die. Was Eve condemned because she was created in Adam? One feature is that Adam and Eve are typical of Christ and the church.

"If we believe the spirit of a man is in his soul of the man, then you could say the spirit was in the soul of the OT prophets. But the Holy Spirit was ‘upon’ the spirit not IN the spirit, not even with Moses."

But if we simply believe what the Spirit of God says, then rather than making a distinction the Holy Spirit did not make, the point is that the Holy Spirit was in men such as the OT prophets:

Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. (1 Peter 1:11)

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Peter 1:21)

"Adam did not give in to Eve. He acted on his own prerogative; he was not tempted as Eve was."

He acted on his own prerogative in yielding to the offer of Eve. "Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression," (1 Timothy 2:14) yet neither was he forced or act proactively seeking this fruit/knowledge, but being offered it by the women then he ate it: "she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat." (Genesis 3:6)

"The desire to sin is also sin and must be dealt with before we can enter the Kingdom of God"

The proclivity to sin is a that of a fallen sinful condition, but one is not culpable for something he/she has no controlled over, and while we are affected by the choices of others, for good or evil, yet we are not punished for what others did, versus sins we are culpable for.

And rather than attaining to perfection of character via some postmortem process, hearts are purified by effectual regenerating faith(Acts 10:43; 15:7-9; Titus 3:5) which is imputed for righteousness, (Rm. 4L5) whereby one is accepted in the Beloved on His account and thereby positionally seated with Him in Heaven, (Eph. 1:6; 2:6) and will go to be forever with the Lord at death or at His return, whatever comes first. ((Lk. 23:43 [cf. 2Cor. 12:4; Rv. 2:7]; Phil 1:23; 2Cor. 5:8 [“we”]; 1Cor. 15:51ff'; 1Thess. 4:17)

"Timing is important. Sin entered by one man, what about Eve? Was Adam condemned before he ate the fruit? In Adam all die. Was Eve condemned because she was created in Adam?"

Why do you have such strange ideas are these? (But I saw your homepage.) Scripture clearly teaches that Eve sinned before Adam: "`And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression, (1 Timothy 2:14) but he was had more accountability, being her head and not being deceived, and neither was condemned before they were created.

Yearning doesn't imply a need, it only indicate love and affection. It is similar to Christ's lament over Jerusalem:

It isn't that God couldn't do it, wanted something He couldn't have, limited Himself because it trend on man's sovereignty, etc. It only means that God loves to give us the very best despite our desire to spur Him-much like the prodigal son.

I like your poem but I would have issue with a few of the points, #3 in particular goes against a number of verses (John 15:16, James 2:5, Matthew 24:14, Acts 10:41, John 1:12-13, John 6:35-37, etc.)

Please pardon my ignorance, but there are many unwritten rules here on FR. I read the guidelines on the about page of Religion Moderator.

What is the Bible Thumper Caucus?
Is there a list of religion caucuses?
I think I understand the Catholic Caucus very well, This one does not seem to work the same way.
