Husband is 84 and I am 83. We filed a lawsuit and this Thursday and Friday husband and I will be giving our depositions. Please join with me that our answers will be what God wants from us and we can get this settled. I received so much strength from the prayers that went up the last time. You are so appreciated.

Few things in life are as terrible as being betrayed by a loved one, particularly your own child. I pray that you win your lawsuit, and that the pain of this betrayal is removed. I also pray that your son realizes and repents his sin against the 6th of the 10 Commandments: honor thy father and thy mother.

Standing in agreement that this is resolved swiftly and favorable for YOU and that your son pays it all back and willingly takes punishment

God bless you that you are facing such financial and familial anguish.
Prayers that God provides the result that is best for you.

I am confused a bit. How did your son gain access to your retirement fund? Did he have some kind of legal access like power of attorney? Did he forge your names? Did he criminally steal it and somehow manage to gain access to your checking accounts?

My prayers for you, that you will win your lawsuit and, most important, that your son will repent. God bless.

I’m in the banking industry and I see firsthand where children and grandchildren financially abuse older folks.
I can’t tell you how much that sickens me.
I hope and pray you can recover your losses. Both from a financial standpoint and from a personal one as well.

Did he have some kind of legal access like power of attorney?Sounds like it had to be something like that. Guardianship is one method but there are a couple of others. I looked into it for our autistic son, having his sister as Guardian. I don't like all the rights my son would lose with pretty much every method. We're just going to keep training him and ask his sister to watch over him.
Older people sometimes sign their rights over to a child in case they become mentally limited, Alzheimer's, dementia etc.
