Jehovah’s Witnesses Leader: COVID-19 Signals the “Last Day of the Last Days” rapture
Patheos ^ | 20 march | He meant mehta

In case you’re wondering how some religions are coping with the outbreak of COVID-19, just look to the Jehovah’s Witnesses to see how absurd reactions can get.

In a recent video featuring Governing Body member Stephen Lett, he absolutely delights in the disease because he sees it as a signal that Armageddon is imminent.

So the events unfolding around us are making clear, [more] than ever, that we’re living in the final part of the Last Days. Undoubtedly, the final part of the final part of the Last Days, shortly before the last day of the Last Days.

Matthew 10:28

And do not fear those who kill the body, but are unable to kill the soul;
but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Having the sin being forgiven is different from "it wasn't me, just my body/soul"

Having sin forgiven is much different than being born with no sin at all; or the ability to do so.

...that's what Jesus says saves you ...

A direction question deserves a direct answer...

John 6:25-40

25 When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?”

26 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. 27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”

29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

30 So they asked him, “What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? 31 Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’[c]

32 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

34 “Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.”

35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

Be humble, repent of your sins, believe, be baptised, eat of His body and endure to the end

But don't lick your fingers?

this is illogical.

Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

Do you believe Jesus here or not?

Some of the posts on this thread are close to blaspheming the Holy Spirit of God.

How?

Stop badgering and mocking the words of Jesus.

Like - call no man father?

GOD is not mocked...

1 John 2:1

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.

Because the Holy Spirit of God indwells believers. So, to suggest that the spirit within a saved person sins suggests that God’s Holy Spirit can sin. To which I say firmly, God forbid.

Apparently you wrote this in opposition to what I posted...

Guess you don't believe what the bible says either, eh??? So what's this mean to you???

Rom_4:8  Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Or this???

Rom_4:22  And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
Rom_4:23  Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
Rom_4:24  But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

Rom_5:13  (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Rom_6:14  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Gal_5:4  Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Or how about those??? What do they mean to you???

That was my thought, too. People not only don’t understand grace, they don’t understand forgiveness either.

And I think I know the reason. It is a strictly human trait - PRIDE. It is something God says He hates:

    The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate. (Proverbs 8:13)

    Pride has kept many people from accepting Jesus Christ as Savior. Admitting sin and acknowledging that in our own strength we can do nothing to inherit eternal life is a constant stumbling block for prideful people. We are not to boast about ourselves; if we want to boast, then we are to proclaim the glories of God. What we say about ourselves means nothing in God’s work. It is what God says about us that makes the difference (2 Corinthians 10:18).

    Why is pride so sinful? Pride is giving ourselves the credit for something that God has accomplished. Pride is taking the glory that belongs to God alone and keeping it for ourselves. Pride is essentially self-worship. Anything we accomplish in this world would not have been possible were it not for God enabling and sustaining us. “What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?” (1 Corinthians 4:7). That is why we give God the glory—He alone deserves it. (https://www.gotquestions.org/pride-Bible.html)

Sure seems like it. Or else they know that’s what Scripture says but they don’t have the Holy Spirit within them to open their eyes to its truth. Many things are “spiritually discerned”.

Jesus answered, and said to him: Amen, amen I say to thee, unless a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Eat of His body and drink of His blood. Not symbolic, but the true Eucharist m just as Catholics, Lutherans, orthodox etc have always believed since Apostolic times.
