There is almost literally no place to hide these days.
Back in the 1980’s during the end times discussions, tracking through cell phone technology was not even considered. Drones were a thing of science fiction. I don’t know where heat seeking stuff and infrared technology was but even that has no doubt improved greatly.
The military has demonstrated frightening capabilities based on what we’ve seen when the terrorist leaders have been hunted down and taken out.
People seem to be embracing evil at a rate almost unheard of and genetic engineering could allow for much of the plagues in Revelation. Yes, they could just straight out be supernatural, but God also uses men to do stuff and John could only describe what he saw, now it’s source.
All we can do as believers at this point is trust that God, who determined when and where each of us should live, knew that we’d be facing these times and equipped us to deal with it.

Notice that he did not cite scripture and verse, because no such promise was made by the Lord.
Now, one could make the argument that the anti-christ was already in control of global government. During Christ’s temptation, Satan offered the kingdoms of the world, which were all in his possession, to Christ if He would worship him. Jesus did not dispute the assertion. If it had been a lie, it would not have been a temptation.

It is as though the Lord has hardened their hearts, blinded their eyes, and made heavy their ears.
I normally say that things will get much wore before we can keep vigil for the end times - but the super fast deterioration and the boldness of the EVIL has me thinking they are a lot closer than I ever imagined.

It would then seem to me that by asserting that the conditions appear ripe for Antichrist's accession, then that in itself would indeed be a tacit prediction of the soon return of Christ Himself.

If one accepts that premise, one can figure things out for themselves from there. Keep in mind though, there is no news in the evening news.
Thank you, I’ve been saying the same thing. The skids are being greased for the anti-Christ. Compliance and “respect” shame so many into wearing the mask. Fear of the government over this issue has caused many churches to roll over. What will they do when told not to speak against abortion?
