I did something I don't usually do and read the article. It was satire to make a point . It was a sponsored satire piece from a group promoting "growing church the way Jesus would."

This was the first time I've seen this on the Bee.

We live not far from Northland Church — they have a starbucks and a restaurant. I can’t imagine the appeal. But then, I love old, plain wooden churches.

It reminds me of Clerks the animated series, we have a small bookstore that has its own little coffee bar which also sells books and coffee...

One of my favorite movies is “The Cowboys” (John Wayne). Boys want to be men — and desperately desire proper role models. The “youth pastor” stereotype of the contemporary Christian church is providing the wrong model for boys. (The same is true in the ghetto and is the reason for its perpetual downward spiral.)
