An ultra-Orthodox Israeli student now living in Colombia said that he spotted a kosher red heifer on Wednesday that would be available immediately upon the coming of the Messiah reports Radio 2000. The man took footage of the animal, and claims that halakhic (Jewish legal) authorities have confirmed that at first glance, it is indeed kosher.
The student purchased the cow for an undisclosed but large sum of money.
Currently, the Temple Institute who approved its purchase is waiting to ensure that she doesnt grow any white or black hairs. If it doesnt it will be officially declared a red heifer. However, if a black or white calf is born to her, it can no longer be considered a red heifer.
Last month, Rabbi Azaria Ariel, traveled to an undisclosed ranch in Israel to lead the Temple Institutes efforts to raise a red heifer for the performance of the commandment of producing the purifying ashes of the red heifer. He recently inspected the current red heifer candidates and shared their status.
One of the two more mature candidates is still very viable, even though it has a few hairs which arent sufficiently red, as required by halacha (Jewish law).
Two new candidates were born in the early months of 2020, and they are currently viable. The ordinance of the red heifer is described in the Bible:
This is the ritual law that Hashem has commanded: Instruct Bnei Yisrael to bring you a red cow without blemish, in which there is no defect and on which no yoke has been laid. (Numbers 19:2)
The purifying power of the ashes of the red heifer posses the ability to overcome the spiritual impurity contracted via physical contact with a corpse or cadaver, known in Hebrew as טמא מת tamei met. The renewal of the ashes of the red heifer would enable kohanim (Temple priests) today to achieve the highest level of spiritual purity, allowing them to resume their work in the Holy Temple.
This would eliminate one more stumbling block on the way to rebuilding the Holy Temple and renewing the Divine service.
Im sure they will find the perfect red heifer, yes. At least we hope they do before McDonalds gets her
Looks like Red Angus or Limousin breeding to me
It was carrying a complete set of the works of Marx, Lenin, & Mao.
Sure. The matter will be determined by the experts.
“So what? The book of Hebrews makes clear the days of sacrifices are over. Progressive revelation doesnt go backwards.”
However, it is interesting that the very Law/Bible that Jesus believed in, and said not to change (”For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.” Matthew 5:18) was, in fact, changed by the very addition of the entirety of the Christian Bible (which you call the New Testament) by his followers.
Just so that you are aware of this, here’s at least part of the reason why Jesus said that not one jot or tittle of “the Law” (i.e. the Law as passed down to Moses at Mr. Sinai) would change - as written in that very Law itself (quotes taken from https://www.chabad.org/library/bible_cdo/aid/63255/jewish/The-Bible-with-Rashi.htm):
Deuteronomy 4:2 -
“Do not add to the word which I command you, nor diminish from it, to observe the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”
Deuteronomy 13:1 -
“Everything I command you that you shall be careful to do it. You shall neither add to it, nor subtract from it.”
So, when the Hebrew Bible says that when there is a Temple, that the Kohanim are to bring sacrifices in a certain manner and at the appointed times, not only will the sacrifices be brought, but they will be brought in the exact manner required, and at the appointed time, under the Law. Part of what is necessary to do that is to sacrifice a red heifer - and that’s why this entire post exists.
There are supposed to be about 100,000 hairs on the average human head (other than for us bald guys); I imagine that there are probably a couple of million hairs on a cow. I don’t envy those guys their job.
“Do religious Jews accept that?”
What’s it say about cinnamon?
No problem. I get a little fired up when some go blame Jews for killing Christ, when His mission on Earth was to go to that Cross. And He was fully aware of it. If He never went to that Cross, I hate to think what it would be like. Calvary changed the path of history.
Im sure theyll not quite (if I understand how the term is transliterated) their way past any issues.
And God has imposed a price for that.
Spot on post!
Thank you very much!
+1 Million and totally agree!
I got a bit fired up myself seeing your post to nobody thinking it was sarcasm, but then I saw it was to the deleted comment.
We’d be in a whole world of trouble without hope if He never went to that Cross. I’m thankful with every fiber of my being that He did.
Just wish I wasn’t in this decaying sinful body if you get my drift. God Bless you bro!
Once a cow never a heifer again
I don’t get it. There’s lots of cattle that have this hue.
They can’t have more than one or two grey/white hairs to be used in a sacrifice - in other words a perfect shade of red.
“And God has imposed a price for that.”
Someone is looking after us, just as He promised that He would.
“And God has imposed a price for that.”
We Jews are no more perfect than any other people - not as individuals and not as a group. But we don’t need any other standard regarding the path to eternal salvation besides the one that has been passed down from Moses to our ancestors. The same standard, I would remind you, that my distant cousin, the carpenter, believed in to such an extent that he said that not one bit of it would change until the end of time.
“The book of Hebrews makes clear the days of sacrifices are over.”
The sacrifice for sin is complete, but where does it that memorial sacrifices and offerings are over? We celebrate Communion and isn’t it a memorial of the death of Jesus that is taken over and over, 1 Cor 11:26?
I would also suggest that you think about the fact that the blood of bulls and goats was never meant to take away sin, Hebrews 10:4. There is more to the millennial kingdom that meets the eye, Zechariah 14:16.
