Steve Gregg is a nationally known Protestant radio broadcaster. Hes hosted The Narrow Path, which airs daily on dozens of radio stations around the country. Hes also the author of multiple books, hes founded a Bible school, and hes taught verse-by-verse through the books of Scripture many times.
Best of all, he is a real gentleman who not only knows his stuff but who is also interested in getting to the heart of issues and exploring them in a way that avoids the pitfalls of so many debates.

Missing one week while travelling is hardly a problem. If you think there is not much in the mass that contradicts Lutheran doctrine you either do not u feret and Lutheran doctrine ( which I doubt) or you do not undestand the mass which is more likely. YMMV I would attend a nondenominational or baptist service or find one online. Take some time and really study the doctrine behind the mass and what Roman beliefs are
Luther never wanted to split from the Catholic church. That is a well documented fact. So if you want to follow Luther...
Those were wheels he set in motion (unforeseen consequences) in Worms that he could no longer stop, in part because of Gutenberg and some nobles that saw this as a way to no longer pay Rome.
Ironically, Luther’s reforms were Orthodox, i.e. returning the church to it’s original ideas and today most of the very liberal ideas are found in churches which bear his name. Talk about rolling in your grave! Could you imagine Luther today, hearing a tattooed female pastor using obscenities in service in a church where homosexuals can get married and they are unwilling to take a stance against abortion? And the church has his name on it!!!

Your comment; “when we stick to Scripture as the final authority, no praying to Mary or Saints, assurance of salvation and salvation by grace through faith not works. There is no compromise on these issues and a few others that caused the Reformation in the first place.”
So where does it say that the Bible is the only authority of the teachings of Jesus?
Do you then reject the authority of Jesus to give His authority to Peter and his successors?
Jesus says “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church (Catholic Church). I will build my Church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom oh heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:18-19) So please explain your understanding of Jesus giving authority to His Church?
Jesus us told us to pray for others “But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those that persecute you. (Matt 5:44) So those in Heaven and closer to God free of other distractions, their prayers have greater confidence and devotion than anyone on earth. We should be thankful for the prayers of Mary and the saints. The saints prayers are offered up in Revelations 5:8 “and with golden bowls of incense, which are the prayers of the saints” The Body of Christ (including those in Heaven) pray for each other to God.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven.” (Matt 5:16) Jesus wants us to do good works with faith and love so that we may join Him in Heaven.
Your comment: “There is no compromise on these issues” I agree. Can you substantiate your beliefs in your doctrines?
If you're going to disagree with a "Romish" practice, then at least get it right.
I started to listen. He has some points.
I am interested in listening to his views against Roman Catholicism.
Top 10 Reasons I'm not Catholic - Jay Dyer
Excellent defense of the faith! Thank you!
We can see the fruits of Luther in the thousands upon thousands of denominations and independent so called churches that each have a wide variety of teachings. If the Bible was the sole rule of faith and easily understandable apart from the teaching authority of the church then you wouldn’t see the divisions.
I see the divisions result from humans that want to do it their way, they know more than God. We inherit that from Adam and Eve.
It seems like human ego gets us into a lot of trouble. We need to learn to just Trust in God.
Peace.
Great point by Arch Bishop Fulton Sheen. Hopefully a saint soon. He was full of wisdom and the Catholic faith.
‘Hopefully a saint soon.’
Hopefully, but not likely with Bergoglio. Sheen is too “traditional” for the current administration to raise him to the altars. Maybe next time...?
The real split is between Catholics who are traditional and Catholics who are following a commie thug Pope.
Blocking the Sheen canonization goes way back before that and involves the Vatican and NY. Do you think Dolan would not release the body just on a stubborn whim?
So did you post this thread just to pot stir?
Normally, I would ignore a post like yours.
I post to encourage a rational discussion of God’s Truth and see whether others can support their beliefs with God’s Word.
There is a post #15 which is a you tube presentation by Jay Dyer of why he is no longer a protestant and that protestant doctrine is not biblical. He made many good points that protestant doctrine has not been able to refute. He is also anti-Catholic and has another you tube about the Papacy and Vatican I and II. Christ told us that there would be false teachers and anti-Catholics.
It appears to me that many accept their protestant beliefs and are not able to engage in a discussion to support their protestant beliefs with God’s Truth. And often make false statements/opinions about the Catholic faith.
Why don’t you try to answer the questions in post 23?
I have answered many times before supported with scripture and have no wish to be banned as other have been but thanks anyway
I see what you mean. They always exhume the body for a sainthood cause, so I wonder, would Sheen have wanted to cooperate with the Church in this matter? It might have been more meaningful for him to conform to the sainthood cause than stay buried in NY. Guess you’ll find out when you meet him!
