Andy Stanley, son of famous pastor Charles Stanley, is a serial blasphemer and idolater who twists Gods Word whenever he even discusses it and uses it to create a false church built around a false gospel and a false Jesus.
Andy Stanly has made a number of dubious claims about the Christian faith and in particular, the Scriptures. Famously stating that Christianity needs to unhitch from the Old Testament, he told his audience that the Ten Commandments dont apply to Christians. Hes flopped on homosexuality telling the mother of an openly-gay and practicing girl that her daughter was saved. He promotes the idea that even if you dont believe in Jesus, you can have a better life by following his teachings. And rampages against the Scriptures telling people that they dont need to feel like they should defend the Scriptures because they arent really that important and it isnt what Christianity rests on.
Stanley has been criticized for his constant attacks on the Word of God and denial that the Scriptures are essential to Christianity, yet he doesnt stop. Easter Sunday, he doubled down and took it even a step further stating that we dont believe in the resurrection because of the Bible.
Of course we believe in the Resurrection because of the Bible. The Bible is the Word of God and is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1). Apart from the Scriptures which the Holy Spirit so graciously gave and preserved for us there can be no salvation because there can be no knowledge of God apart from His Word.

Heretic.
I thought the resurrection was the whole point of the Christian religion.
I love his father, Charles Stanley. But his son.
Generally speaking The YBPDLN Ping List is published infrequently, however based on the exploits of the megachurch pastors posts can spike for a season.
Management will not ping members to every thread addressing megachurch pastors, but will tag articles of interest with the KEYWORD: YBPDLN.

in this case, the apple fell very far from the tree ...
Sounds like a reincarnation of 2nd century heresy of Marcionism.
“in this case, the apple fell very far from the tree ...”
AMEN to that!
Another Joseph Smith wanna be.
One of the qualifications to be an elder is:
"having faithful children not accused of dissipation or insubordination." Titus 1:6
Indeed. I love listening to his fathers sermons. Sadly, our children dont always accept His words.
I an not an Andy Stanley fan at all but the source is hardly trustworthy.
They provide no context and that is critical to understanding.
Even if the “child” is 61 (as Andy is)? Probably not. You could easily make a case until the child is 18 but kids make choices.
If you don’t belive in the ressurection there is absolutely no point to the Gospel. There was no need for the sacrifice of Jesus. THere was no need for Jesus. And the Old Testiment, as does all of God’s Word, remain valid. In large mease the OT points to the Christ coming to redeem humanity.
New in my faith, the Lord sent Charles Stanley to me over the radio. I had never before even heard of him.
My best friend (the brother I never had) was in the hospital dying from cancer. I was making 2 hour trips to go see him. Looking for understanding, I searched the radio dial. I kept coming across this preacher, I was able to recognize his voice, but had no idea who he was or that he was famous.
I continued to find him all across the dial and every portion of sermon I would hear was different from what I had already heard. Believe it or not, but I am sure that God sent Charles Stanley to me, as a new Christian, at the exact moment I needed it most.
The Lord also scheduled my trips so that I would be there with my friend, the moment my friend went to be with Jesus. Although unconscious, I was able to hold his hand and tell him (guys don’t usually do this) for the first time out loud that I loved him, moments before he left this earth. Thank You Lord Jesus.
Powerful testimony
Jesus had a different opinion.
IIRC, Matthew 5.
Ten Commandments dont apply? WTH?! He sounds like a politician not a preacher
Agreed. Sadly, many in this “next generation” are showing themselves Biblically illiterate.
