Amorth said he asked for the help of Jesus, and the young man began to curse and spit, using English instead of his native Italian.
His curses and threats were aimed solely at the exorcist; then he began spitting at him and preparing to attack him physically, writes Marcello Stanzione in The Devil is Afraid Of Me: The Life and Work of the Worlds Most Famous Exorcist (Sophia Institute Press), out now. Screaming and howling, the demon burst forth and looked straight at him, drooling saliva from the young mans mouth.
Amorth said he returned fire with prayers and other ritual recitations, demanding that the demon reveal its name.
Unclean spirit! Amorth bellowed. Whoever you are and all your companions who possess this servant of God I command you: Tell me your name, the day and the hour of your damnation.
The man fixed him with a glare and snarled: I am Lucifer.
In return, the demon resumed his shrieks, making the possessed turn his head back and his eyes roll. He remained like this with his back arched for a quarter of an hour.
As this continued, the room became extremely cold and ice crystals formed on the windows and the walls.
As Amorth continually commanded the demon to leave the host, the young mans body stiffened so much that he became hard and began to levitate. For several minutes, he remained hovering 3 feet in the air.
The man said he began to howl like never before. Then, at the end of this, he felt new and light, Stanzione writes.

It gets freezing cold. It felt like a blast freezer satan sucked so much energy.
Sounds like a Cankles press conference...
The Devil is Afraid Of Me: The Life and Work of the Worlds Most Famous Exorcist
Jesus is my Savior and my Lord.
While I believe in demonic possession, in my opinion, in this instance the title of his book says it all. It’s not about God or Jesus or his service to God. It’s about him, the author.
So I call BS.
Among the many questions Father Amorth answers in the new book are:
How can we recognize the action of the Evil One?
Can a person in the afterlife enter spiritually into a living person?
Which prayers of liberation are the most successful?
What are the four methods a demon uses to enter souls?
Can demons hide from an exorcist?
What are the six characteristics of evil spells?
Are all instances of clairvoyance managed by demons?
Is an exorcist infallible in his judgment and his ministry?
Why is there no longer any possibility of salvation for the fallen angels?
What are the arms of combat that each of us must use to do battle with evil?
And many more surprising facts about the Evil One and how to resist him
He didn’t go down to Georgia?
The Father had difficulty as he asked Jesus to give him the strength.
When doing this work, your strength comes through your weakness. It is not me doing the work at all, it is entirely done through me.
When I met satan, I turned to Jesus and said, “There he is, You can get him.”
Jesus replied, “It’s not time yet.”
That’s when I realized that God is in total control, and even satan is being used as a tool in the Divine Plan.
When Hillary went to Mass
What I mean to say is that when you are doing this work, you don’t ask for strength as its like you don’t exist. You dissolve into the energy that is actually doing the work.
Most of the lessor one’s are a piece of cake. You just take hold of them and send them on their way. They are more misguided souls than they are evil.
I get cold whenever anyone who is close to me dies, even if they are many miles away and I don’t know that they are dying. When a person dies, their soul expands beyond their physical body. Just as when refrigeration gas expands, it takes on heat, the human soul does the same thing.
Satan sucks the life away and in doing so it gets freezing cold. Lessor demons don’t have this characteristic.
This might be a good time to add to your home page. It sounds like it would be quite the read!
The Rite of Exorcism is perfectly clear that Jesus is casting out the demon, and the priest is just his unworthy minister.
I agree about the title of the book.
I have a lot of respect for him and ordered a copy of the book.
We sure are living in interesting times.
As a 13-year old staying a short time in a very old house back in 1976 I crossed through an unused room that was usually closed off. The temperature dropped from summer to seeing each breath exhaled, my body froze and shivered and I KNEW something horrible was standing right in front of me exuding malevolence on a massive scale. Backed slowly out and ran to the bathroom - and I don’t scare. The house’s owner said “Yup, we go around that room” like it was no big whup.
That house was on a ridge in Chattanooga but I don’t know if that was a Civil War thing or what. But yes, people who say it’s all a load of bull are wrong.
I was following a woman up her sidewalk into her home in remote southern Virginia. When I stepped through the entry doorway it hit me, spun me around and my foot was back on the sidewalk going the opposite direction.
I stopped, said a prayer and walked back through that door to WW III. The thing came flying at me and about five feet from me, it was as though it hit a brick wall. It hissed, growled and spit at me before it was constrained.
Ended up the dark spirit told me that it entered this woman when she was four years old. The dark spirit had been in the uncle and moved in when he molested her.
The worst ever, I was working with Dr. Irene Hickman and a demonic kept trying to kill me. I gave her the tape recording of the session and she put a copy of the transcript in her book on demonic depossession.
in this instance the title of his book says it all. Its not about God or Jesus or his service to God. Its about him, the author.
.... yes, that stood out to me also. As someone who has studied this subject, one should never make ones self the focus during an exorcism. It can and will lead to disastrous consequences.
Wish it was as simple as calling some crew with "proton packs" and an old ambulance. May God have enough faithful to withstand this election cycle's onslaught of evil.
