It will take me a while to digest the complexity of that prayer. While I agree with it all, I prefer to stay out of my intellect and in my heart. I’ll print it out and read it and pray on it. Thanks for it.
I use the Lord’s Prayer as it is simple and very comprehensive. It also facilitates surrender as I am at His mercy. I don’t want the illusion of control.
I’m just desiring that I follow His Will at all times in everything I do. If it is His Will that I meet my demise here on earth today, I will be overjoyed to return to full awareness in being one with Him. I Trust God much more than myself. I’m a screw up and He still Loves me.
Back in college one of our Christian group leaders (an older guy) had been in Defense Intelligence (a spy). But he was also a strong Christian, and would lead underground Bible Studies in the countries where he was stationed.
One time in Saudi Arabia he told of a woman that he and his wife had become friends with. The woman was under great distress after hearing the Gospel and called them and asked them to come over.
The man started praying, and the woman freaked out - I can’t remember how he described her - but they recognized it as a demon. He and his wife kept praying that the demon would leave the woman.
“So we are praying - holding her down so she can’t hurt us. Then she passes out. And in an instant - her pet cat, who she had kept inside for all of her 8 years - jumps out an open window from the second floor. And instantly the woman wakes up and is praising Jesus!”
The cat never did show up.
I’ve been buying books from Sophia institute press off and on for 20 years now. They’ve always been the BuzzFeed of Catholic publishing. They take
solid books, give them the most click-baity titles imaginable, then stick a load of sensationalistic questions on the back cover they claim the book will answer, like a cheap ladies magazine at a supermarket checkout.
I still buy, though, because the stuff between the covers is always high quality. They’ve put out a lot of formerly out of print books that are really worth reading.
Like the herd of swine that ran into the water and drown.
So much demonic activity in these years. It’s beyond scary. We pray ALL the time for God to wrest control from Satan and calm things down.
Thank you for pointing this out. Many Spiritual Gifts depend on "friendly spirits". At least, that is my humble take on things.
Edie, beadie, chili-beady, the spirits are about to speak. Are they friendly spirits? Friendly? Just listen! ;-D
I have heard that each person has one or more guardian spirits. What do you know about that? If I stop breathing in my sleep, something wakes me up by "speaking" my name. It is simply a voice in my dream.
I call guardian spirits “Angels”
Yes, they are real.
But we still need discernment as there are imposters.
Yes, spirits will move out of humans into pets and vice versa.
