You clearly dont believe in forgiveness or grace. Only vengeance. Congratulations on your blameless life.
No one is totally perfect except Jesus. So, yes, Christians sin also. But the inward working of the Holy Spirit changes us day by day, so that we don’t have the same sinful lives as we did before we were saved.
And as for all sin being equal, that doesn’t seem correct. When Jesus spoke to the scribes and Pharisees about their sin, he said they would receive greater damnation. So, obviously, some sins are greater than other sins.
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.”
(Matthew 23:14)
That' s all that needs to be said except all of us should be so lucky when the time for our death comes.
Not true. All vengeance is the Lord's. I believe in God's divine mercy as well as in His divine justice. Kobe Bryant was not only a rapist who brutally assaulted a young hotel clerk he had called to his room, but also directed his attorneys to spread lies to destroy her reputation. As far as I know, he never publicly recanted any of this.
That said, I hope that Mr. Bryant avoids eternal separation from God in hell. Instead, I hope that Mr. Bryant somehow died in a state of grace where he will be able to spend the next thousands years in purgatory in a torment equivalent to hell where he will do penance for his terrible sins and pray for his victims. If Mr. Bryant really was a devout Catholic, he should hope for such a merciful outcome. As should we all.
