A friend texted me today to tell me that a friend of hers saw #KobeBryant at #Catholic Mass this morning, Boston priest David Barnes said via Twitter on Sunday. Mass is the worship of God. Heaven is the worship of God. Go to Mass here so that you can worship God forever in heaven.
In the wake of the fatal accident, fellow Catholic and singer Cristina Ballestero posted about an encounter she had with Bryant at Holy Family Cathedral in Orange, California, during a weekday Mass.
I want to tell a story about the time I met Kobe Bryant.
I was sitting in the very back of Holy Family Cathedral in Orange, CA, on a WEEKDAY Mass. At the time I was very into wearing veils, and on this particular day, I had a scarf I used as a veil.
As Mass began, I saw a huge shadow in my right peripheral vision and heard a decently loud creak from probably a big man. I double took to see it was KOBE BRYANT IN THE SAME PEW AS ME ON THE OTHER END!
I just went about my normal praying and singing as usual, because he, like all of us, came to pray. Thank God I had the veil so I could stay focused on Jesus, not this insanely talented basketball player my whole family has looked up to and watched our whole lives.
As we went up to communion, he waited for me to go. If you grew up in the Catholic Church, you understand this is a respectful thing men do in church as a sign of respect to women. He said I have a beautiful voice. I said thank you, and went up to communion...

My father got hit by a car and died coming out of mass. I am glad Kobe has such a great relationship with God. Hes clearly in heaven.
#KobeBryant
Never heard of that person.
#Catholic
Is that a new religion? What kind of hats do they wear?
“Devout” Christians of any denomination don’t rape 19-year-old hotel staffers.
Hope this story is true.
I guess you need to read up on King David. Even christians do bad things you know.
No, but people who do such things repent and can be forgiven or is that not part of your fundie Protestant doctrine. Who knows what happened. I mean on these same boards, everyone was Defending Judge Kavanaugh against similar accusations.
Did Bryant Rape her, there was no evidence he did. Did he have relations with her, the evidence suggest he did and he admits as much. So adult-er, fornicator, yes.
I am sorry to hear that. My elderly mother fell at Church, after attending a funeral mass for her last remaining childhood friend, a group who has been friends since kindergarten and all lived in our town their entire lives. She didnt die directly from her injuries, but it was the start of her downward path - she broke her arm and cheekbone, could no longer drive, and was confined to her home. She passed about 6 months later.
Later that day I picked up her car from church, spoke with the Priest, and felt there was some meaning to this event and her suffering.
What's your proof? He said it was consensual, and that "19-year old" had ANOTHER man's semen on her as well when she showed up for the golddigging opportunity "rape report".
How do you know the poster is a "fundie Protestant"?
Thank God he was in the state of grace. May he and all those who perished rest in God’s eternal peace.
You need to read the history of St. Paul people get converted you know.
This is very good to study too, very sobering:

She also had vaginal bruising and tears, consistent with having been raped. And he admitted the relationship, defending himself by insisting it was “consensual.”
So, she grabbed dirty underwear by mistake, and wasn’t a virgin. So?
But your knowledge of the knowledge of her sex life and apparent ignorance of the case against Kobe speak volumes of his “slut-shaming” tactics.
There was physical evidence she was choked. She had bruises on her body, and vaginal tears.
That evidence alone is not 100% a slam shut case that he raped her, but in a courtroom, in front of a jury, he would be in huge trouble convincing them of the consensual story.
I am glad Kobe has such a great relationship with God. Hes clearly in heaven.
The outward signs at the end are certainly positive, but that is to say that he was someone who had a sense that he himself was in a process of developing a relationship.
Whether he is in heaven, purgatory, or hell, who am I to judge? That said, I hope that on the day of my death I have gone to Mass and have accepted that day with an informed and good conscience the sign of communion that God extends to me.
Kobe Bryant was a world-famous basketball star, worth $hundreds of millions. I would bet he had sex with many dozens of women in his life. The temptations would be overwhelming. He no doubt met many star-struck, and very willing, 19 year-old girls in his time, both before, and after, his marriage.
This one caused his downfall, but by all accounts, it also seems to have been the point at which a new Kobe Bryant was born.
>> No, but people who do such things repent and can be forgiven or is that not part of your fundie Protestant doctrine. <<
You just called me a fundie and a Protestant. Snort.
>> Who knows what happened. I mean on these same boards, everyone was Defending Judge Kavanaugh against similar accusations. <<
Similar accusations??? Kavanaugh’s accuser came forth 20 years later, was contradicted by all four supposed witnesses and couldn’t remember time or place and had no physical evidence. Bryant’s accuser came forth quickly, had such strong evidence that he had to admit he had sex with her, named the place and time, and had undergone a medical procedure which established she had either been raped or participated in very, very rough sex.
Did Bryant Rape her, there was no evidence he did. Did he have relations with her, the evidence suggest he did and he admits as much. So adult-er, fornicator, yes.
That is what his lawyers leaked to the media, but she, the police, and the prosecutors said it was untrue. His lawyers also illegally leaked her name to multiple media outlets, including the New York Times.
You clearly know little about Christianity. Specifically the parts about grace and redemption. And how perfect have you lived YOUR life to be judging others?
You dont have to hope in that my friend. You can know, for sure and forever.
