RIP Kobe, He seemed like a good man, regardless of a few of his problems. We are all sinners to some degree.

Here is KOBE BRYANT’S statement:
“Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not.”
She was found to have had vaginal tears and bruising, consistent with rape.
Is it possible he confessed his mortal sins and was truly repentant? Yes. Only God can know his soul. But “devout” refers to someone’s public behavior. And it irritates me to no end when grave, notorious sinners are described as “devout.”

Notorious sinner can be taken as meaning someone who falls once and gains notoriety (arguably David and Bathsheba//Uriah).
It can also mean someone who falls again and again and again—has fallen recently, and shows no signs of changing.
I think the second is a better sense of the term. I don’t follow Bryant’s life, but from what appears thus far on the thread, the term used this way doesn’t seem to apply to him.
Look I am no Kobe fan, but a lot of these celebs with Money are targets from groupies. Did he have sex with her, yes? Did he rape her, that was never proven in court? My guess, he had as you say “rough sex” and told her after he didn’t want anything to do with her.
The accusations were similar in that both were accused of rape. I don’t believe Kavanaugh raped anyone nor do I think Bryant Raped anyone. I think Bryant just used his fame and wealth and got a woman to his room, had “rough sex” and told her to get lost and then bingo Rape charges.
