Jaxson has made a ton of progress after healing up from the failed transplant in March of 2018. They removed the donor intestines, but had to leave the donor liver and pancreas. He is 6 1/2 now and very small for his age, his 3 1/2 year old sister is about the same size as he is. Besides living on “TPN” hooked up to tubes for 18 hours a day, all his life, he now has ostomy/colostomy bags too, but even with all that, he has actually had a somewhat (relatively) normal life for the past year or so, in that the time he is unhooked during the day, he has been going to school and making friends.
Recently they got a new special needs boy to the school and he and Jaxson became friends and they moved Jaxson to his class because Jaxson was bringing him out of his shell and so they could both help each other...
They had a class field trip to the zoo about a week ago and my wife “Mimi” to Jaxson was able to go with him and they had a great day at the zoo. He loved seeing all the animals, but especially liked the monkeys!
Then, last Wednesday, he woke up complaining of a stomach ache and his belly seemed a little bloated, so my daughter took him to the hospital, thinking he was having another line infection.. Something that just happens every now and then with the g-tube, but it had been along time for him out of the hospital this time. They started running their tests and now are worried that he is in rejection and the doctors that did the transplant in Pittsburgh want to see him there. Today my wife and daughter flew back with him on lifeflight and we don't know where this will lead. There is no donor lined up this time if he is rejecting, not sure what will happen.
He has been at the top of the donor list since he got healed up from last time, so over a year now, but because of the failed transplant, the second time they said had to be a perfect match and that match has not been found. We know he is in God's hands and just asking for some extra prayers for strength for Jaxson, our family and the doctors that will be treating him after they arrive in Pittsburgh.

Praying for Jaxson and all of you. I know what it’s like...my greatgrandson had a liver transplant in Pittsburgh when he was 6 months old. He is now a smart and feisty 6 year old.

But the constant worry...whether there will be a failre, even this far down the road. He will always be on the anti-rejection meds, which have to be adjusted often, and which have unpleasant side effects.

Had a big scare this summer...his T- cells went way down ...he was very sick, but the docs straightened it all out.

It’s so nice to hear about Jaxson finding a little friend at school!

Our Judah is home-schooled but he has companions...two brothers and a sister! Judah has also had the lifeflight experience! But the plane had engine trouble halfway between Memphis and Pittsburgh, they had to land and take an ambulance the rest of the way.

Be assured, every time I pray for Judah, I will lift up Jaxson right beside him !
