Pope Says Parents Cried Over Atom Bombings

TOKYO - Pope Francis has told Japanese Emperor Naruhito that he remembers seeing his parents cry over the news of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki 74 years ago.

The pope traveled on Sunday to the two Japanese cities, where he urged world powers to renounce their nuclear arsenals and declared the use and possession of atomic bombs an “immoral” crime.

Palace officials say the pope told the emperor on Monday that he recalled the memory of his parent’s sorrow when he addressed survivors of the atomic bombings in the two cities.

Naruhito told Francis that he has high respect for the pope’s efforts on behalf of world peace and people’s happiness.

The emperor is a symbol of the nation and has no direct political power.

Japan says it seeks a nuclear-free world but still depends on U.S. nuclear deterrence because of the worsening security environment in the region.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga made the comments Monday, a day after Francis demanded in Nagasaki and Hiroshima that world powers renounce their nuclear arsenals and declared that the use and possession of atomic bombs was “immoral.”

My father was on Negros Island, Philippines, when the bombs dropped. He would have had the honor of being first in on the invasion of Japan. He did go to Japan in October 1945, but as an occupier, not a combatant.

The government ordered enough Purple Hearts for the invasion of Japan that they only ran out a few years ago.

Did they weep after Pearl Harbor? And how did they feel about the concentration camps?
This guy is a ridiculous emotionally driven Marxist fool.

And his parents were o.k. with the fire bombing of Tokyo? With a naval blockade that starved the people of Japan? And with the possibility of tens of millions of casualties, Japanese as well as Americans, if we had to invade?

And what did his parents think of Argentina remaining neutral through most of WWII? Let the English and Americans and the Russians do the dying (and the killing). Is neutrality moral when the world is in peril?

Turning to the present, we have had exactly one President who advocated “the zero option,” Ronald Reagan. It would have required credible inspections and retention of the right to re-arm if those inspections weren’t. His proposal was shot down by the same deep state that opposes Donald Trump.

Did the Pope shed tears for the 72 men in the crew of the Chinese submarine that accidentally vaporized itself last week in the 20 kiloton explosion in the South China Sea?

Maybe Pope Francis was on the side of the Germans and Japanese... it would fit his creepy totalitarian viewpoints.

The atomic bombs were God’s mercy on people otherwise destined for self-extermination. Think about it. What else could have awakened them from there proven determination to fight unto death?

He ought to celebrate the mercy of God.

It saved Japan from being divided, like Korea, with the most likely outcome a Civil War, that would have made Korea look like child’s play.
