Question One: How do we know the Bible is true? (Hebrews 4:12)
According to the Bible, all Scripture is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16). Peter confirmed this when he said that those who wrote the Bible were not speaking on their own but spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21). Many parts of Scripture are directly attributed to God through use of phrases like This is what the Lord says (e.g., Exodus 4:22). Finally, Jesus often quoted from the Old Testament and affirmed it as being Gods Word.
Prophecies that were later fulfilled are corroboration of the accuracy of the Bibles claim to be Gods Word. For example, the vision recorded in Daniel 7 correctly predicted the rise of the Medo-Persian Empire, the Greek Empire under Alexander the Great, and the Roman Empire.
Archaeological discoveries are also important evidence of the Bibles accuracy. For example, for many years King David was believed by some to be a fictional character. But recently a composition from a king of Syria referring to the house of David was discovered at Tel Dan. This writing provides tangible evidence that ancient rulers indeed recognized the dynasty of David in Judah.

Well, actually, nine commandments. The first one is a statement.
Read it and assume that it is true....you may come away pleasantly surprised.
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.
The last sentence is the commandment.
Oh - and the whole gist of the pastor’s sermons were on how the Israelites had just been freed from bondage. And God did not want them to become slaves to worldly desires, and so gave them the Ten Commandments to be FREE!
This summer’s sermon series was on the Fruit of the Spirit from Galations 5. Also on how to be free from being a slave to the world.
5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery...........
13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: Love your neighbor as yourself. 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
Jesus also spoke about the Flood and Jonah. If those had just been stories, I think that Jesus would have told the truth about them - and then expounded on “the deeper truths behind the made-up story”.
We had an associate pastor give a sermon like that years ago at an old church. He gave some mumbo-jumbo on how the “truth” behind the made-up story was more important than the story itself.
The sermon was about the Virgin Birth. Well, the lack thereof actually. Afterwards I asked him that if the Virgin Birth is impossible, I’m guessing you think the Resurrection is as well.
“Of course! People don’t just die and come back to life again!”
I questioned how he was even able to get his pastoral calling, and told him and the head pastor that we would never darken the church doors again.
Yeah just one that is easier to understand, the NASB is good also...
My New Testament Greek to English has both the NASB and NIV.
Because it is inspired by the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Triune God.
From my understanding of the bible, it does not appear God was into making things easy... Even as hard as it was, the lessons were only learned for a generation or two.
.
Do you realize that makes no sense at all?
How would Daniel write his work long after he was dead?
The Pharisees are the agents of the adversary in every way!
It wasn’t written by Daniel. It was written by the Jewish leadership to help the people keep hope when they were in a very bad state.
It’s like the Book of Deuteronomy, contributed to Moses, but, as Moses dies before the end of the book, how did he write it?
.
Is your spirit a separate person from you?
The idea of a trinity is deeply pagan.
The Father and the Son are one! Yeshua said that many times. “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father.”
They are one and have one spirit, just as you are one with your spirit.
.
>> “It wasnt written by Daniel. It was written by the Jewish leadership to help the people keep hope when they were in a very bad state.” <<
That is Satanic blasphemy.
.
I think you need to read a book about Biblical History. There are quite a number of them out there written by some very astute biblical scholars.
Circular logic.
It is NOT circular. It is typical to ascribe authorship to the person accepted as the author since antiquity. Both Jewish tradition and Christian tradition accepted Daniel as the author for far longer than the naysayers have made their spurious proposals.
It is up to the liberals, who wish to nominate a later date, to disprove authorship by Daniel. They have put up weak arguments, but current conservative Biblical scholarship still accepts Daniel as the author. Just like they accept the authorship of Moses for the Pentateuch. (The death of Moses was probably added by a later scribe.)

Odd then that he waited so long to deliver the manual. Did the Hebrews before the arrival of Moses just think murder was OK. Was it news to them at Sinai that it was wrong to lie and steal?
The “myth” of the Hittite Empire was once the favorite reason to discount the historicity of the Bible.
Then the secular, skeptical archaeologists discovered Hattushah, its capital. Oops.
Did they admit they were wrong, and the Bible was right? Did they change their attitude toward the Bible? No. They just moved on to the next best reason.
It is a matter of faith. They have anti-faith, and no amount or pragmatic validation will ever suffice for them.
“How Do We Know the Bible Is True?”
It requires something the writer doesn’t have......faith.

Oh it's much more difficult to believe than that! Jesus is the Word made flesh.
Who told you that??? The authors of the NASB???
I found another Bible study guide at a goodwill on half price day awhile back... called Halley’s Bible Handbook, it is an awesome book! Originally written in 1927, I got a 26th printing of the 24th edition so they have updated it a few times and sold a few copies since then.
The interesting thing for anybody with Kindle Unlimited, I was going to order one for my mom for her birthday on Amazon and when I went to look, they have the most recent NIV version FREE on Kindle Unlimited. My mom prefers her kindle to an old fashioned book anyway, so I sent her this link and will find something else for her.
