Circular logic.
It is NOT circular. It is typical to ascribe authorship to the person accepted as the author since antiquity. Both Jewish tradition and Christian tradition accepted Daniel as the author for far longer than the naysayers have made their spurious proposals.
It is up to the liberals, who wish to nominate a later date, to disprove authorship by Daniel. They have put up weak arguments, but current conservative Biblical scholarship still accepts Daniel as the author. Just like they accept the authorship of Moses for the Pentateuch. (The death of Moses was probably added by a later scribe.)
“Both Jewish tradition ...”
Interesting. If Daniel was such a prophet then why was he not so designated.
