n 1970, Hal Lindsey published The Late Great Planet Earth. The book sold millions of copies and introduced a generation to the miraculous fulfillment of end times bible prophecies in our day and time.
Coming on the heels of World War II, the rebirth of Israel, the Six Day War, and widespread societal upheaval, many were convinced the rapture would take place before the end of the decade. But the 1970's came and went, and Jesus did not return.
Then, in the 1980's and 1990's, numerous bible prophecy books with titles like "Countdown to Armageddon" and "Final Warning" sold all over the world. Again, many people were convinced Jesus would return before the end of the century. Yet Jesus didn't come.
Then the world experienced Y2K, the September 11th terrorist attacks, and the phenomenal success of the Left Behind series. Once again, it seemed as though Jesus would return at any moment. But once again, he didn't. And then something happened. Complacency set it.

and the two witnesses prophesy for 1260 days 3.5 years.
They are compared to 2 olive trees and two lamps — referenced to Zechariah 4 where two olive trees continually provide oil for hte lamps in the temple.
The image of the two witnesses who “stand before the Lord” is also taken from Zechariah 4:14.
The two witnesses have the power to “turn water into blood” and “bring forth plagues” - these images are associated with Moses and Elijah.
Moses and Elijah were the two witnesses at the time of the destruction of the second temple in 69 AD. Moses and Elijah symbolize the Law and the Prophets.
This is just as we have Moses and Elijah at the Transfiguration in Matthew 17:3, Mark 9:4, Luke 9:30.
This clearly meant that the two witnesses were the Law and the Prophets who are killed by the rulers of Jerusalem circa 67 AD
This continues on Rev 11:8 where “they were slain and lie on the street of the great city which is allegorically called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified” — the Lord was crucified in Jerusalem - now (meaning now as in 69 AD) called the New Babylon - the harlot-city that turned against the Lord
The book of the Revelation says that the New Jerusalem has come down - Christianity. And the new Temple is the Lord Himself.

Yes with 1 week of 7 years delayed while the church tries to get as many souls saved before the “times of the gentiles” over running Jerusalem come to an end.
It was 483 years from the time the decree went out until our Messiah was killed. So take your pick as to when the 70 “seven” began to occur!
So if you have issues with prophecy go talk to the Jewish Christians at Jews for Jesus. They probably have a better handle on prophecy than you!
the weeks of years etc. is Daniel’s vision of the 70 weeks found in Daniel 9:24-27
Daniel in the 6th century BC saw that the “anointed one” the Messiah would come. This talks of 490 years until the Christ.
Daniel then saw the Christ coming, being crucified and then the destruction of the 2nd Temple, the end of the age, the end of the world.
Remember that it is written by Daniel
“Seventy weeks (70 x 7 seasons) are decreed concerning your people and your holy city,..
Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks.
Then for sixty two weeks it shall be built again... but in a troubled time.
and after the 62 weeks an anointed one SHALL BE CUT OFF, and shall have nothing... and there shall be war; desolations are decreed
And he shall make a strong covenant with many for a week

NOTE - the 490 years from the rebuilding of hte 2nd temple to Christ, then immediately the 7 weeks.
The vision of Daniel teaches that there will be one Messiah who will come, and then He will be “cut off”. The Messiah is preceded by the second Temple (Herod’s temple).
the END of the 70 weeks of Daniel is the DESTRUCTION OF THE 2ND TEMPLE in 69 AD.
The events predictED an abomination in the 2nd temple - something that has already occured.
Taking it from DAryush you have 490 odd years until Jesus. Then 70 years until the destruction of the temple.
So no hail stones,or meteors that turned the oceans dead? No dead witnesses that God catches up to heaven? No Satan actually bound for a literal 1000 years before being loosed again for a short season? Nothing in history that you can cite that makes your view of “Apocalypse” valid? Just a bunch of hypersymbolized interpretations?
Actaully his church is the real new temple of which Christ is the chief cornerstone with the preachings of the prophets and apostles as part of the foundation and we members are its living stones set into place as the Spirit ordains. We are also “his bride”. Yet these symbolized images, depicting a true spiritual reality don’t cancel out the rest of the nitty gritty realities which Revelation also describes such as a real life “Beast” and supporting supranational structure” and a false prophet and an image people are forced to worship...or the fight he has with the two witnesses and the celebration the entire world has when the Beast is allowed to kill them and leave them lying there for 3 days and nights! Nero never had supernatural powers nor did he or any other Ceasar ever rise seemingly from the dead after a mortal head wound! Yet if you could cite from history if such things had occurred in the past then your other statements might have relevance. If you would discount what Revelation has to say about those matters then you have to discount the rest of Apocalypse since the nitty gritty prophecies and the symbolic passages do hang and fit together...you can’t have one, the symbolism, without the other or the nitty gritty. A massive Earth wide hail storm with ice the size of boulders and all Islands being removed from their places...somebody would have written about it somewhere in time!

As to Satan being bound - yes he was bound and he was loosed again for a short time between the crucifixion and the destruction of the temple.
Do note that the Davidic kingdom was formed about 1000 years before Christ - not exactly, but around that point of time.

The book of revelations says the beast (not the little horn) will rise seemingly from the dead.
The beast is the Roman Empire, which seemed to be dead with the fall of the Julio-Claudian dynasty with the fall of Nero.

We were commanded by the King Himself to look for those signs.

“When these things begin to happen, look up, for your redemption draws near.”
Why did He not say, “When these things are completed, look up, for your redemption draws near?”
The naysayers are ignorant of scripture. Flat-out deniers and they cannot bring themselves to say who The Restrainer is.
It boils down to the obvious reality that if the true identity turns out to be the Holy Spirit indwelling born-again believers, then their particular rapture timing theory is shot to pieces!
In Paul’s second letter to the Thessalonians, he told them that “the one who restrains must be taken out of the way so that the son of perdition may be revealed.” It reads like this at 2 Thessalonians 2:6-8:
“And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed….”
Also, we have the straightforward assurance in 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10:
“For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.”
Pretty simple for those who trust Christ that He is true to His Word.
Embrace your complete ignorance of scripture and deny who The Restrainer is Cronos.

It could be an actual entity that is restraining not just the “church” itself. And when the restrainer is taken out of the way, it could still be a number of years as the Beast fully manifests himself before the rapture, hence the mention of “elect” that could be deceived if it were possible. Still, I’m a pre-tribber to mid trib when the Two witnesses get raised back up. We have to keep in mind that none of us knows the hour. We could be raptured today but there could still be an indeterminate time between that and the rise of the son of perdition since the last 7 years starts when the 7 year peace treaty is formalized with Israel. Beast guy might need some time to rise, get consolidated, get killed per the Bible then rise from the dead. He might be around in some form before we get raptured but not fully in place but with a steadily increasing persecution of Christians occurring already world wide! Or in 30 seconds, 29, 28, 27....see ya there!
The scripture says the Beast had a specific head wound and that he would specifically fight with 2 witnesses. The Beast has a false prophet that does false miracles and causes lightning to fall from the sky and that the false prophet would also give the Beast this power and that life would be given the image of the beast. Now tell me what Julio-Claudian Emperor ever did those things? The Beast was not being spoken about figuratively as a revived empire but as a singular being who fights and kills the witnesses! Nero never did that!

The abomination that causes desolation (by the Jews, BTW) is a combination of two things (IMHO). Yes, there may be some indication that the image will be placed in a wing of the (third) temple. Rest assured, there will be a third temple. It is measured in Revelation 11.
