Jesuit Magazine Makes ‘Catholic Case for Communism’
Breitbart ^ | 25 Jul 2019 | Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D

Posted on 07/26/2019 10:06:15 AM PDT by detective

The Jesuit flagship publication in the United States, America magazine, has published an article defending Marxism and comparing the murderous, atheist ideology to Christianity.

In “The Catholic Case for Communism,” America writer Dean Dettloff says that the militant atheism of Marxist politics is “understandable” because “Christianity has so often been a force allied to the ruling powers that exploit the poor.”

As a number of prospective presidential candidates from the Democrat party are openly donning the mantle of socialism, America took the issue one step further, suggesting that the negative reaction to “Bernie Sanders’s inspiring 2016 primary bid and the electoral success of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib” represents a “revival of socialist hysteria.”

Dettloff showcases Marxist priests “like Herbert McCabe, O.P., Ernesto and Fernando Cardenal, S.J., Frei Betto, O.P., Camilo Torres” who “have been inspired by communists and in many places contributed to communist and communist-influenced movements as members,” as if the corruption of Catholic clergy were grounds for supporting Marxism.

Most of the corruption in the Catholic Church in recent years is due to the Jesuits.

The Society of Jesus founded by Ignatius of Loyola in Spain in 1540. Historically the Jesuits have accomplished many great things.

Since the 1960's the Jesuits have been controlled by evil men. They have promoted homosexuality, communist dictatorships, child molestation, thievery, corruption and all kinds of bad things.

Jesuits are the main promoters of homosexuals in the priesthood. While it is estimated that less than 5% of Catholic priests are homosexuals, it is estimated that the majority of Jesuit priests are homosexuals.

Jesuits have been the main promoters of the "Liberation Theology" in Latin America. Liberation theology was invented by the KGB and promoted by the Jesuits.

Pope Francis is a Jesuit.

While I do not have definitive proof, it has been claimed that the suspicious death of Pope John Paul I and the attempted assassination of Pope John Paul II were planned and executed by the Jesuits.

There is NO "Catholic case for Communism"!!!

Helping those in need is NOT "Communism".

Providing disincentives that undermine individual responsibility is NOT "Catholic".

the ONLY possible justification for claiming that the Bible supports communism is the teaching about caring for others

but it is disengenuous to try using that to promote communism

because

the entire Biblical message on this subject is an appeal for VOLUNTARY caring and sharing by individual readers, believers. NOT forced or coerced by the secular state rulers and their military

also, the Bible teaches several times against kings/strong rulers/governments and the evils they tend to do to the people....as in

“‘This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: he will take your sons, and appoint them unto him, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and they shall run before his chariots. 12And he will appoint them unto him for captains of thousands, and captains of fifties; and to plow his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and the instruments of his chariots. 13And he will take your daughters to be perfumers, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. 14And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants. 15And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants. 16And he will take your men-servants, and your maid-servants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work. 17He will take the tenth of your flocks; and ye shall be his servants. 18And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king whom ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not answer you in that day.’ 1 Samuel 10

Everything you say about the Jesuits (except for maybe the assassination stuff - I’d have to look into that) is true.

For hundreds of years, they had a reputation as the Pope’s Marines. They went to the really horribly impossible places and spread the message of Christianity.

In 1988, Malachi Martin wrote a book called “The Jesuits”. even 30 years later, it was an eye-opener. They openly defied several Popes - almost to the point where John Paul II considered revoking their charter and disbanding them. They were up to the eyeballs in the Liberation Theology mess in Central and South America and many open supported the Sandinista government.

I encourage anyone out there to find this book and read it. You’ll see why our Pope acts the way he does.

In the old Soviet Union and China, but international communists realized they could get more people if they took over the churches.

The Jesuit flagship publication in the United States, America magazine, has published an article defending Marxism and comparing the murderous, atheist ideology to Christianity.

Most Jesuit priests are hardcore leftists, with no room for discussion.

The Benedictine Priests I know very well are 60-40 liberal but most are sane and willing to listen to opposing opinions.

Jesuits are 85-15 left, most are hardcore communists/socialists, very narrow minded, and in no way, do they really promote the real teachings of Jesus as their name might suggest.

This is my opinion, based on real life acquaintance's of both Benedictine and Jesuit Priests.

I've been a practicing Catholic for more than 70 years, and I am in regular contact {weekly or more frequent} with clergy, so this opinion not just smoke and mirrors.

I thank God for The Sacrament of Confession. Mea Culpa.

Adolph Hitler once referred to Heinrich Himmler, head of the SS as “Our own Ignatius Loyola''. It all fits.

Smart move on their part.

But I see NOTHING about communism that makes it compatible with religion.

The desire to strive and do better and want to be better is a gift God gave us and communism crushes it.

Plus the state MUST come before God.

Oh but that’s not REAL communism.

If done right, it would work great /s

“Everything you say about the Jesuits (except for maybe the assassination stuff - I’d have to look into that) is true.”

I said I did not have definitive proof for the Jesuits assassinating Pope John Paul I and attempting to assassinate Pope John Paul II.

I do have proof for everything else.

I read the book The Jesuits by Malachi Martin several years ago and a second time about two years ago. I am preparing to read it again. It is an excellent book.

“Most Jesuit priests are hardcore leftists, with no room for discussion.”

That pretty much describes Pope Francis.

He is a Jesuit.

Thanks USS Alaska. Your opinion carries weight for me since it’s based on knowing a bunch of Priests.

What about Fransicans? Any observations there? My guess is they would be more conservative because they observe some measure of poverty in deference to their founder, St. Francis of Asissi.
