A short time ago, my wife and I were having lunch in a small restaurant on a Sunday, and nearby was a lady pastor, dressed in black clergy garb and collar. She was sitting with several couples around a large round table. It appeared this was a group from her church, having lunch after their service. As they ate, there was a lively discussion about fundamentalist Christians, and how deluded they are.
The problem, this lady pastor laughed, is that so many people are stuck in the mindset of what they have always been taught. But now we KNOW so much more. Now we have SCIENCE, which explains so many things that were mysteries to the Bible writers. If only these fundamentalists would open their eyes and adapt to the times!
Here we had a modern, ultra-liberal lady pastor, (and very likely a practicing lesbian, based on other things we observed), surrounded by adoring members of her congregation, and she was instilling doubt in the minds of her flock doubt that the Bible could be trusted, and more than that, she was actually holding Biblical Scripture up for open mockery and ridicule along with anyone who would believe Gods Word. Now, you might think this was maybe a Unitarian Universalist gathering, and it could have been, but it wasnt. It was a group of people from a MAINLINE so-called Christian denomination, and if I shared that denomination with you, you might be surprised. I wont do that here. Im trying to be tactful.

Methodists?....................
I worked under these types of people in a well-known Christian denomination (don’t ask, not even in FReepmail, I won’t say who).
They taught the complete opposite of 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 and pimped one of their professors with a PhD who told them all was good.
That passage could not be more clear. The Day of the Lord will not come until that man arises.
Methodist, Baptist (some), Presbyterian, episcopal, Unitarian (never was Christian), New Catholic (under Francis), etc.
Sounds like the uber-left wing of the Episcopal branch to me.
That’s not about all Episcopalians, mind you. But there is an uber-left wing branch.
Why is this excerpted? The posting page doesnt require it (I tested) and the sites not listed at https://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1111944/posts
Don’t know any Episcopalians...............
bmp
Yes I ran into some of these recently what I term as “New Age Christians”...I did my best to refrain from involving myself in these people’s conversation till they were joking it up about the aborting of babies as being ok in the Gospel. Being a Bible expert I scooted my chair over and made a few points to this so called “pastor” who was carrying on...Turns out he was not much of a Christian after all...
Good for you. Be careful, there are wolves out there....
I know Joe Piscopo, Is that close enough?.................
So, why is it so many are enabling the destroyers of the
flock to remain unnameable and unopposed, to continue
their evil work unimpeded?
How does that make them “better”?
Or not complicit?
(It doesn’t.)
Yes Satan and his minions are growing in strength and numbers and has gone into hiring a 3rd shift...No doubt about it!
Presbyterian(USA) if you please.
There are several Presby denominations that are not apostate.
It must be comforting to be so confident that one can sit in judgement of other people in a diner.
In my religion there was something about a speck in my eye, but a log in yours.
kinda.....
I personally do not believe in smearing the entire denomination because a group of leftists took over one of their establishments. And no matter what, there are none that are flawless (including me) except Christ.
If it helps, my references are to them selling preterism and partial-preterism.
That being said, this particular “company” was all but destroyed. It operates under a new name, now, much smaller.
This should have served as a huge wake-up call to members of that denomination; i.e. that something was seriously-wrong there.
It was said people weren’t buying their products. I guarantee you now they sell even less.
My apologies!
I was not trying to condemn any of them but more towards those that have ventured far to the left. Sorry to have included yours, or any, that do not belong.
