An exploration of the doctrine of the Church of Latter day Saints by Tim Conway.
Where does it teach that?
Christ clearly teaches the ‘oneness’ that he shares with God the Father in John 17:20-23 King James Version (KJV)
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
... How do you torment the ‘Doctrine of the Trinity’ out of these words from the mouth of Jesus Christ?
Very true!
One in essence and in this context, one in purpose.
He prayed his followers would also be united.
A true Christian is a person who has accepted Gods gift of salvation and put their faith in Jesus Christ. This includes accepting Jesus death on the cross as payment for our sins and His resurrection as proof of His power over death........Then Agrippa said to Paul, Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be 'a Christian? (Acts 26:28).
Being Christian is also a walk with Jesus Christ.....However, if you suffer as 'a Christian', do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name (1 Peter 4:16).
So we as Christians are united as 'believers' in the risen Christ....regardless of location.....I say this because Jesus changed location and tactics. Jesus had taught in synagogues, then in the open air. He sat in a boat; large crowds stand by the lake as He taught them many things. Jesus had spoken and acted openly, ...and with that The sower and the soils (13:39)....
The four soils represent four types of people and four types of response to Gods word without Gods word many fall away on the wayside.
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
(There are still 'stones one upon another' that were once part of that temple.)
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
Christ laid out the 'events' that would be that would need be, before He returned for a 'harvest'.
Planted in Mark 13:19 Christ declared ...
19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:
22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
NOTE: Christ spoke these words, long before any jot or tittle of the so called New Testament was placed on plant fibers or animal skins... John 1)
24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
IF Mitt Romney and Harry Reid are standards by which the Mormon doctrine is preached .. I have no desire to learn any part of their 'new' doctrine. IF as Christ declared before the New Testament was penned He had already foretold all things.. there is more than than a few denominations that have revised and extended their own traditions and claim it came from Christ.
IF one reads the Words of Christ, He declared that all but the very elect would be deceived. Oh, Paul declares in Ephesians 1 the 'chosen', 'saints' and/or elect were 'chosen' before the foundation of the world... That points back to Genesis 1:2... Paul used the Greek word καταστρέφω that got translated 'foundation of the world'... No denomination has God given authority to pronounce who is a saint... They have already been chosen.
Any time one thin dime of tax payers dollars is given to any religious denomination for the purpose of furthering their treasury ... 'we the people' have the right to demand accountability ... DACA included.
Each and every soul that has passed through this 'flesh' age will get their one on one face time with the Heavenly Father... He has kept the perfect record, He is the heart knower and He knows the intent.
As Paul penned in Romans 11: 7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. 9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them: 10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
The 'majority' are under the Spirit of slumber ... and unless or until the Heaven Father deems it time for that removal, no flesh beings are going to change their minds... It is most peculiar to observe how the 'holy' peoples expose their inner self... like a fiery dragons...
No. You have to believe in the same God. They do not believe Jesus is God or in the Holy Trinity.

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 John 5:7
If Mormons believe they are right, why do they want to be called Christian? I would never call myself anything but Christian; its who I am.
They have different beliefs and a different bible. They believe in works which says to me Jesus death was not enough to save us.
My experience is they appear very nice but try sharing your faith with them and youll see underlying anger there.
I worked with a Mormon women who sat and complained her whole lunch our about having to volunteer to help a family pack up and move. I asked why she was doing it. She said her and her husband were trying to move up in their Mormon status. If you cant do something in love, your doing it for selfish reasons.
Well; they did NOT want this appellation at one time.
Now they do.
What's up with God giving all these changing signals?
Just a few years ago the I am a MORMON! PR campaign was in full swing; and now Headquarters has squashed that and wants the church websites to reflect PART of the churches official name:

Hold on there partner!
They 'accept' just a wee bit MORE than this:
LDS taught that the Mormon jesus had been a man and had become a god and that all Mormons could be one...and have their own planet..
"He (Joseph Smith) is the man through whom God has spoken... yet I would not like to call him a savior, though in a certain capacity he was a god to us, and is to the nations of the earth, and will continue to be."-- Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses 8:321"You call us fools; but the day will be, gentlemen and ladies, whether you belong to this Church or not, when you will prize brother Joseph Smith as the Prophet of the Living God, and look upon him as a god..."-- Herber C. Kimball, Journal of Discourses 5:88"If we get our salvation, we shall have to pass by him [Joseph Smith]; if we enter our glory, it will be through the authority he has received. We cannot get around him [Joseph Smith]"- (as quoted in 1988 Melchizedek Priesthood Study Guide, p. 142)There is "no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith. If Joseph Smith was verily a prophet, and if he told the truth...no man can reject that testimony without incurring the most dreadful consequences, for he cannot enter the kingdom of God"-- Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p.190"I tell you, Joseph holds the keys, and none of us can get into the celestial kingdom without passing by him. We have not got rid of him, but he stands there as the sentinel, holding the keys of the kingdom of God; and there are many of them beside him. I tell you, if we get past those who have mingled with us, and know us best, and have a right to know us best, probably we can pass all other sentinels as far as it is necessary, or as far as we may desire. But I tell you, the pinch will be with those that have mingled with us, stood next to us, weighed our spirits, tried us, and proven us: there will be a pinch, in my view, to get past them. The others, perhaps, will say, If brother Joseph is satisfied with you, you may pass. If it is all right with him, it is all right with me. Then if Joseph shall say to a man, or if brother Brigham say to a man, I forgive you your sins, "Whosoever sins ye remit they are remitted unto them;" if you who have suffered and felt the weight of transgressionif you have generosity enough to forgive the sinner, I will forgive him: you cannot have more generosity than I have. I have given you power to forgive sins, and when the Lord gives a gift, he does not take it back again."-- Orson Hyde, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p.154-155"It is because the Lord called Joseph Smith that salvation is again available to mortal men.... If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation,"-- Bruce McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p. 396, 670
"No man or woman in this dispensation will ever enter into the celestial kingdom of God without the consent of Joseph Smith. From the day that the Priesthood was taken from the earth to the winding-up scene of all things, every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith, junior, as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God and Christ areI with you and you with me. I cannot go there without his consent. He holds the keys of that kingdom for the last dispensationthe keys to rule in the spirit-world; and he rules there triumphantly, for he gained full power and a glorious victory over the power of Satan while he was yet in the flesh, and was a martyr to his religion."Brigham Young, October 9, 1859

They succeeded in killing Joseph, but he had finished his work.He was a servant of God, and gave us the Book of Mormon. He said the Bible was right in the main, but, through the translators and others, many precious portions were suppressed, and several other portions were wrongly translated; and now his testimony is in force, for he has sealed it with his blood. As I have frequently told them, no man in this dispensation will enter the courts of heaven, without the approbation of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jun.Who has made this so?Have I?Have this people?Have the world? No; but the Lord Jehovah has decreed it.If I ever pass into the heavenly courts, it will be by the consent of the Prophet Joseph. If you ever pass through the gates into the Holy City, you will do so upon his certificate that you are worthy to pass. Can you pass without his inspection? No; neither can any person in this dispensation, which is the dispensation of the fulness of times. In this generation, and in all the generations that are to come, everyone will have to undergo the scrutiny of this Prophet. They say that they killed Joseph, and they will yet come with their hats under their arms and bend to him; but what good will it do them, unless they repent? They can come in a certain way and find favor, but will they?Brigham Young, --JOURNAL OF DISCOURSES, vol. 8 p. 224

"God is in the still small voice. In all these affidavits, indictments, it is all of the devilall corruption. Come on! ye prosecutors! ye false swearers! All hell, boil over! Ye burning mountains, roll down your lava! for I will come out on the top at last. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter- day Saints never ran away from me yet."

"The day will comeand it is not far distant, eitherwhen the name of the Prophet Joseph Smith will be coupled with the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son of God, as his representative, as his agent whom he chose, ordained and set apart to lay anew the foundations of the Church of God in the world, which is indeed the Church of Jesus Christ, possessing all the powers of the gospel, all the rites and privileges, the authority of the Holy Priesthood, and every principle necessary to fit and qualify both the living and the dead to inherit eternal life, and to attain to exaltation in the kingdom of God."[5]

Thus those who gain eternal life receive exaltation. . . They are gods.

We stand in reverence before him [Joseph Smith]. He is the great prophet of this dispensation. He stands at the head of this great and mighty work which is spreading across the earth. He is our prophet, our revelator, our seer, our friend. Let us not forget him. Let not his memory be forgotten in the celebration of Christmas. God be thanked for the Prophet Joseph(Gordon B. Hinckley, the fifteenth president of the LDS Church, Ensign article entitled Joseph Smith: Restorer of Truth, December 2003)
My brothers and sisters, in this bicentennial year of his birth, I should like to speak of our beloved Prophet Joseph Smith. . . . In the 135th section of the Doctrine and Covenants we read the words of John Taylor concerning the Prophet Joseph: Joseph Smith, the Prophet and Seer of the Lord, has done more, save Jesus only, for the salvation of men in this world, than any other man that ever lived in it. If they are 'like' Catholics and Protestants; then; by their own admission; they are in a WORLD of hurt!!
Good citizens are probably not the kind of fruits that the writer had in mind.

When you get a bunch of them from an ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead papyrus; well...
Do you believe that Almighty God the Father impregnated Mary the way the rest of us folks with physical bodies do it?
Or perhaps it was the Spiritual Mother in Heaven that got in the family way??
When did THAT change??
Mormon 7:7And he hath brought to pass the redemption of the world, whereby he that is found guiltless before him at the judgment day hath it given unto him to dwell in the presence of God in his kingdom, to sing ceaseless praises with the choirs above, unto the Father, and unto the Son, and unto the Holy Ghost, which are one God, in a state of happiness which hath no end.
An 1830 statement titled "Testimony of Three Witnesses"one statement signed by three men rather than three separate statementswas published at the end of the first edition of the Book of Mormon:
Be it known unto all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, unto whom this work shall come: That we, through the grace of God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, have seen the plates which contain this record, which is a record of the people of Nephi, and also of the Lamanites, his brethren, and also of the people of Jared, who came from the tower of which hath been spoken. And we also know that they have been translated by the gift and power of God, for his voice hath declared it unto us; wherefore we know of a surety that the work is true. And we also testify that we have seeen [sic] the engravings which are upon the plates; and they have been shewn unto us by the power of God, and not of man. And we declare with words of soberness, that an angel of God came down from heaven, and he brought and laid before our eyes, that we beheld and saw the plates, and the engravings thereon; and we know that it is by the grace of God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, that we beheld and bear record that these things are true. And it is marvellous [sic] in our eyes. Nevertheless, the voice of the Lord commanded us that we should bear record of it; wherefore, to be obedient unto the commandments of God, we bear testimony of these things. And we know that if we are faithful in Christ, we shall rid our garments of the blood of all men, and be found spotless before the judgment-seat of Christ, and shall dwell with him eternally in the heavens. And the honor be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, which is one God. Amen.
Seems like we ALL have!
2 Nephi 31:21
"And now, behold, my beloved brethren, this is the way; and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God. And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end. Amen."3 Nephi 9:15
"Behold, I am Jesus Christ the Son of God. I created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are. I was with the Father from the beginning. I am in the Father, and the Father in me; and in me hath the Father glorified his name."3 Nephi 11:22-27, 36
"And again the Lord called others, and said unto them likewise; and he gave unto them power to baptize. And he said unto them: On this wise shall ye baptize; and there shall be no disputations among you. Verily I say unto you, that whoso repenteth of his sins through your words and desireth to be baptized in my name, on this wise shall ye baptize them--Behold, ye shall go down and stand in the water, and in my name shall ye baptize them. And now behold, these are the words which ye shall say, calling them by name, saying: Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen. And then shall ye immerse them in the water, and come forth again out of the water. And after this manner shall ye baptize in my name; for behold, verily I say unto you, that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one; and I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one...And thus will the Father bear record of me, and the Holy Ghost will bear record unto him of the Father and me; for the Father, and I, and the Holy Ghost are one."
