The Church funds should not have any detrimental effect on climate. For this reason, the Austrian Bishops Conference has now decided to sign the divestment statement in the context of the Global Catholic Climate Movement (GCCM) and to comply with the ethical investment guidelines.
The decision was announced in a statement released at the end of the Plenary Assembly of the Austrian Bishops that ended yesterday, 21 March, at Reichenau an der Rax. The statement was posted on the website of the Bishops Conference today. The decision effectively means that, over the next five years, the Church will divest its money from all companies promoting or producing fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas), the statement reads.
The decision will apply to all Austrian dioceses, the Bishops Conference and all of its bodies. In order to ensure the implementation and interpretation of the ethical investment guidelines thus reinforced, a new standing committee will also be established as a new tool to that end. The ethical investment guidelines (FinAnKo) were adopted by the Austrian Bishops in autumn 2017. They are based on the criteria of ecumenical Christian ethics, justice, peace and integrity of creation and suggest prevention, encouragement, and change as the principles of ethical investment.
So no more cars, busses, trains, or planes for them. They can walk wherever they need to go.

They should stick to theology.
Why would you deprive them of donkeys to ride?
Remember, this is from the people who gave us Adolph Hitler.
Donkeys fart.
The atmosphere contains 0.04% CO2.
Man is responsible for 3.4% of that 0.04%
The total amount of anthropogenic CO2 In the atmosphere is therefore 0.0014%
Completely eliminate man’s contribution and the Earth’s atmosphere still contains 0.04% CO2.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
Austrians are clever people, they convinced the world Hitler was a German, and Beethoven was an Austrian. - Tom
So. They’ll boycott all food, clothing, shelter, anything even remotely associated with fossil fuels.
Shut off their power. No Christmas lights this year.
Let’s see how that will work for them in the winter.
The best scientists go to the seminary to study GlobalClimateWarmingChange.
They are.
They will be the one world religion in the end.

hypocrites one and all; they talk the talk, but if they want to walk the walk, then they must do the following:
Cease using all carbon. No natural gas to heat their houses and churches, no gasoline for their cars, no electricity from coal for their houses, no medicines, clothing or soaps made from petroleum, nothing that was hauled in a truck or train that runs on carbon fuel, no lubricants made from petroleum, and no products that contain plastic.
Also, cease using all of the following because: plumbing uses smelted copper pipes or plastic pipes. Wiring uses smelted copper with plastic insulation. Nails and screws and rebar use smelted iron. Cement used in concrete and mortar are made by burning coal. Glass is made via energy-intensive methods. Sheet rock is made in factories run by electricity and made from gypsum mined and hauled to the factor via machines run with diesel. Lumber is cut and milled with machines run by gasoline and electricity, and dried in kilns fired by natural gas. Brick is made from mined clay and fired in kilns fired with natural gas. And all this stuff has to be hauled to the site with trucks run with gasoline or diesel. And all the necessary earth-moving and digging are done with machines run by diesel. And all those machines are made with or from or by products derived from coal, gas, and oil.
Hope they freeze their Cossacks off during the very mild European winters.
What a bunch of fools.
So I assume they live in tents, use bicycles and sailboats, and tend a garden for food. Do as I say, not as I do. Just like Arnold.
