Funeral to take place at Church of the Divine Child in Dearborn, MI
DEARBORN, Mich. (ChurchMilitant.com) - Catholics are outraged another pro-choice politician will be given a Catholic funeral.
Throughout John Dingell's nearly six decades serving in the U.S. House of Representatives, his many and varied achievements would have to include his support to advance the Culture of Death by pushing contraception, abortion pills for rape victims and using embryos for research.
In 2006, before he retired, the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) rated Dingell as having a "pro-choice stance" with a score of 0 percent.
He died from prostate cancer on Thursday, and despite his public record, a public funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at the Church of the Divine Child in Dearborn, Michigan.
Church Militant was contacted by a number of Catholics that are wondering why a Catholic funeral Mass is being held for him.
"Catholics cannot vote to kill unborn children," one said. "Since when do Democrats not have to follow the Fifth Commandment and then still be able to have a huge funeral Mass, full of accolades for his abominable voting record?"

Why not? In Boston, they gave the unrepentant serial killer Whitey Bulger a Catholic burial.
Communion goers: Cuomo, Pelosi, Biden, Kerry
I had no idea.
Amazing.
I had no idea.
Amazing.
Is the Pope a Jesuit Communist?
YES, YES HE IS.....
Has the Catholic Church ever excommunicated a politician? Do they ever refuse someone like Dingell holy communion? How about rebuking someone like that for their antiCatholic like positions? Is there anything the Catholic Church might find questionable or objectionable?
Henry VIII
Lets also remember what Deep Stater John Dingell said during 0-care debate.
The harsh fact of the matter is when youre going to pass legislation that will cover 300 [million] American people in different ways it takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken to put the legislation together to control the people.
Its all about controlling the people. But if you want to control them, you cant let them know that you want to control them.
And given the fact that even worse he was pro-death, John Dingell really didn’t like people at all. He’s probably asking Lazurus for a drop of water now and forever.
A king got excommunicated and begged the pope to reinstate him. I can't remember his name right now, but he did his penance and was reinstated.
So, it has been done before. Elizabeth I was excommunicated.
The reason for excommunication is for the good of the soul of the person declared but it only works if the person is willing to repent.
In these days especially, people are so far gone that it is doubtful that it would have any effect on the declared.
Many cannot be moved to repentance and therein lies the difficulty.
Catholic Church, which face are we seeing today?
Talk about frauds.
and the worms said..
Bring him on.
The Catholic church is weak on baby killers.
JoMa
Ill shed no tears for this bitter Marxist.
Hate to say it, though he didn’t claim to be Catholic or even Christian, Hitler had been baptized as a baby in Austria....and was never (formally) excommunicated by Rome.
Remember last month when a priest gave a nasty funeral for a kid who killed himself? That’s bad, and apparently worse than killing other people.
As a lifelong Catholic I am finding this “new” Catholic church and Pope disgusting!
Makes me wonder why I’m Catholic!
They do NOTHING to in your face liberals who flaunt their extremism.
How far we’ve fallen!!!
The church is full of libs who sit in the highest seats of power! They are liberal politicians who happen to wear a collar! They disgust me!!
Tell me how we got this Pope again!!
The time for the church to have worked on him was when he was still alive. Since it apparently didn’t see fit to impose discipline then, it would be hypocritical to deny him a funeral.
Catholics can make whatever mistake they want, God will not make a mistake. John, you gotta answer for all them babies.
