In September 2018 members of the Governing Body of the Church in Wales were asked to agree or not with the following statement written by the bishops of the Church in Wales:
It is pastorally unsustainable for the Church to make no formal provision for those in same-gender relationships.
The results of the ballot were 76 members agreed, 21 members disagreed and 1 ballot was spoilt.
The Bench of Bishops did not participate in the ballot, however they gave an undertaking that their future thinking would be informed by the result.
It is worth recalling that this is not the first time the Governing Body has considered the matter of same sex relationships. In 2014-15 the whole Province was invited to consult on changes to the law of marriage in England and Wales and comment on how it felt the Church in Wales should respond. At a meeting of the Governing Body in September 2015 members were invited to express their view on the following three options using an anonymous form to help inform future consideration of how the Church might respond to these changes:

Do they really feel that they will gain many new members by embracing homosexual marriage?

His arguments are BS.
God never condoned nor created slavery but allowed for it as man made and demanded that such slaves be treated equitably and with compassion even and not to be treated as “just property”
This is not to say that slavery is good but that it’s a state of human nature. Even Alexandra Cortez as intimated that many Americans are effectively “slaves”
Freedom from the food laws is just that - not a foundation for “enlightened extrapolation” to sex laws. His same reasoning here could be used to say that child sacrifice is good and allowed by God because it shows a break from the Old Testament laws.
Then he just completely abandons the Bible altogether and says we’ve got women priests and we’re still here and faithful (and I’d argue that pal)

God made man and women distinctively different yet uniquely compatible and complementary, and only joined them together in marriage - as the Lord Jesus Himself specified - and only condemned homosexual relations wherever they are manifestly dealt with.

‘Sustainable’ is the new zeitgeist word that encompasses everything and anything anyone using it wants to espouse to defend and support his position, no matter what it is. Most people using it cannot define it.

I was baptised, confirmed, and was an altar boy in the Episcopal Church. That denomination left me, I didn’t leave it. Before all you Catholics come swooping in...my wife is old school Latin Rite Catholic and she still goes to church despite all the pedophilia, homo priests, and the current communist, globalist, and muslim pillow biting pope.

Romans 1:18-32 basically describes a process that begins with what may seem to be harmless compromises but represent real examples of not retaining the knowledge of the Lord.
By the time you get around to doing/approving things that are so blatantly, obviously against sound doctrine you’ve compromised away a lot.
When Christ said some hard things and many who had been following Him stopped following Him, He turned to the 12 and asked if they would leave too.
“To whom shall we go?” one said, “You have the wordsof eternal life.”
So should our answer be. Cling to the truth plainly given even if it seems no one else is clinging with you. Remember what the Lord told to Elijah: that He had 7000 who had never bent their knees to Baal or kissed it.
When the world calls you to compromise, don’t. Even if it seems like a small thing, don’t. Friendship with the world is enmity towards the Lord. The world will hate you too if you stand with Christ.
He seems to be completely unaware that there are ALREADY formal provisions for how to deal with those in same-gender relationships (AKA homosexuals) in Scripture. God says it is an ABOMINATION to Him, so the responsibility of pastors and the members of the congregations is to help those seeking to know the Lord and to live holy lives that are pleasing to God and bring Him glory. He never expects us to condone, ignore or excuse sin.
Same here. Every time I heard or see the word “sustainability” I roll my eyes. It is like nails to chalkboard to me. I know right then their argument is bunk because they feel they must salt it with ‘green buzz words’.
Those oh-so-wonderful self-righteous save-the-world but really kill us all ignorance and intent. Enviro extremists? No, that is their ‘mainstream’ religion.
