Pope Francis, Instead of Talking About Walls and Climate Change: Excommunicate Governor Cuomo
American Thinker ^ | 01/29/2019 | Silvio Canto, Jr.

Pope Francis has just returned from a youth rally in Panama.  I'm glad to see the pope there, and it's a great program to promote the faith among young people.  I have friends from our area who traveled to the event.

Let's hope that Pope Francis has a tough response to the new New York law on abortion.  It is late-term abortion and worse.

I'm glad to see that the opposition is coming from many places, including Charlie Daniels:

Music icon Charlie Daniels blasted New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in a Saturday tweet, asserting that a new state law that legalizes abortion up until birth threatens to make the Empire State resemble an infamous Nazi concentration camp.

"Watch the wrinkles on Cuomo's face lengthen as the ramifications of the thousands of murders he has sanctioned come to bear on him," Daniels, 82, tweeted.  "The NY legislature has created a new Auschiwitz [sic] dedicated to the execution of a whole segment of defenseless citizens.  Satan is smiling."

I don't know if Satan is smiling, but a lot of us are shocked with the law and the celebration that followed.

Painting the town pink to celebrate late-term abortion?  Is this what Roe v. Wade was supposed to be about?

Pope Francis has been talking a lot about walls and climate change.  I would like for him to excommunicate Governor Cuomo and shame him for this outrageous law and the celebrations.

Don't hold your breath. I want tough action against all Catholics (i.e. Dems), who support murdering unborn children.

Francis on sex scandals in the church: nothing to say.
Francis on misery in Venezuela: I don't do politics.
Francis on infancicide: nothing to say.
Francis on the wall: it's immoral and wrong.

Wow, I thought he'd gone into hiding like Ruth Bader Ginsburgh but no, he emerged long enough to reassure us that he doesn't talk about politics, then talked about politics, then refused to talk anymore about politics. Still nothing on the sex scandals though.

Excommunication won’t do a darn thing. Cuomo and most democrats stopped being Catholic or Christians a long time ago. They just give lip service to their religion in order to bring in or keep their Christian voters. You can’t be a democrat and still be a Christian.

And, the pope isn’t Catholic either if he can just ignore the killing of babies in the womb. He’s the opposite of a pope; he’s no better than Hitler on this issue.

RE: Excommunication won’t do a darn thing

We all know that. But it sends a message about the moral stand of the Roman Catholic Church.

He said nothing before or after this law was passed. He is of the same mind as cooouomo on most things, as they’re both marxists.

"Francis on the wall: it's immoral and wrong."

"Pelosiacal" theology and ethics.

A message has to go out to these so-called Catholics that - while they can separate their religion from their secular duties, the open advocacy of abortion on demand, and, in particular, Cuomo’s rejoicing (pink buildings and all that) the signing a new abhorrent law that allows abortions of viable babies - is unacceptable.

Maybe not ex-communication, but certainly their local Bishops should stop their receiving communion. You too, Nancy.

Why the Catholics keep voting for Democrats remains a mystery to me. It is time for the Catholic Church to take a stand vs. opposing everything Trump.

The Pope criticizing walls remains the most hypocritical comment of all. Let’s focus on what is the number 1 political issue for the Church - abortion on demand.

Cuomo belongs to satan, as his behaviors show. Why would the catholiciism religion want such a son of evil in theior midst?

Excommunication won’t do a darn thing.

But the optics would be big.

Cuomo is Catholic. He may not go to church on Sundays except for PR purposes. I guarantee you IF he was excommunicated he would show up the next Sunday Mass and present himself for Communion. Probably with a camera crew.

Hopefully the priest would deny him the Sacrament. Now that would go "wall to wall" in the news cycle!

I doubt they care anything about optics. Cuomo and democrats only care about their agenda and goals. It's no sacrifice to him at all if he gets excommunicated; it would have been worth it to him and to the party if he got banned from all religions

The 'optics' from killing babies right before they are born, is a lot worse than the optics of getting excommunicated. These people are God-less. No god, nothing to worry about.

Pope Francis does not have the intestinal fortitude to stand up and excommunicate Andrew Cuomo. He most certainly should be excommunicated but Pope Francis does not have the guts!
