Around 8:30 this morning, December 27th, Bre's friend went into her room and found her unresponsive and barely breathing. She immediately called 911 and Bre was taken to the hospital where she was admitted to the ICU, sedated & intubated, and doctors began working up a diagnosis. After a CT scan and hours of testing, they have determined she has the H1N1 flu and possibly meningitis. The doctors are concerned that her neurological signs are not great at this point and have informed us the next 24-48 hours are going to be critical for her.
George is in the hospital with her in San Diego and at this time we're just asking that you lift Bre up in prayer and ask for a healing miracle and a full recovery.
Everyone in the family is overwhelmed at this turn of events and is focusing all their attention on blanketing Bre in prayer and love. The outpouring of support the entire Payton family has received since Bre's hospitalization has been amazing and this site will be updated as often as possible so they can continue to focus their attention and love on Bre's recovery while still having a place to see all the well wishes and prayers from everyone. We cannot wait for Bre to be able to see how much love and support she had during this fight when she's out of the hospital and on the road to recovery!
Please see the link in the Source URL for updates.
She worked in DC went home for the holidays boy this took her REALLY FAST if she had been really sick she would not have been able to fly home for Christmas such a shame!!!
The bacterial type, maybe? I was reading that it has to be diagnosed quickly and treated with antibiotics ASAP.

Eternal Rest Grant unto Bre
O Lord and
may perpetual light shine upon her,
may Bre's soul and
all the souls of the faithfully departed,
through the Mercy of God
rest in peace.

From “The Federalist” site: “...we are comforted in the knowledge that she was a woman who lived a life marked by deep Christian faith, trusting in her Savior, Jesus Christ in the God who promises the way our story ends is that ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more.’”
I’m so glad she accepted Christ as her Savior before she passed. (Jesus came to her aid on Calvary.)
So young, with her whole life ahead of her.
Rest in peace. Condolences to the family.
Amen. We don’t know why it was her time to die, but we do know that our Lord has taken Bre Payton home.
Prayers up for Bre and for her loved ones.
I’m very sorry to hear this.
Thank you for the post.
Here is some more information:
I read that Bre has passed. I am so very, very sorry. It is shocking that one so young should be taken. I wish God’s peace and comfort to her family and to all those who loved her.
Memory eternal.
So am I.
Too young...
May God rest her soul, and bring some comfort to her family and friends.

Prayers for the repose of Bre Payton’s soul.
My own daughter was thrown over 120 feet in a terrible motorcycle accident, she didn't exactly walk away and spent about two weeks in the hospital but has no permanent damage.
We just don't know the Lord's plan and as heartbreaking and difficult as it is we can only accept that His plan is the best outcome.
Prayer has been a core part of my life and when people ask me how can bad things like this happen, I recall a moment from many years ago, my kids were all under 12 when it dawned on me. We were at an indoor water park in the Wisconsin Dells. It was seven below and I could see the snow whipping sideways just outside through the giant windows but everyone else inside was completely oblivious to the weather outside, enthusiastically enjoying the waterslides and splashing in the pools or having a snack(or drink) at the bar. If we ask the question "How can God let bad things happen" we must also ask the other one "How can God let good things happen".
Everyday BILLIONS of people somehow get enough food and shelter to make it to the next day. We have been blessed with so much abundance, ironically my son just got home and mentioned the enormous amount of donated food that must be thrown away at our local homeless shelter.
I just have no words to console Bre's broken hearted family and friends, their sadness is unimaginable but we can pray that God in His infinite Mercy will grant some consolation to all those near and dear to Bre that will forever miss her radiant presence.

H1N1 is a human flu/swine flu hybrid.
Human flus that cross with the swine flu or bird flu are the most dangerous of all, they are the ones that kill adults in the prime of life. And they can kill in huge numbers. The 1918 Flu Pandemic was a variant of H1N1.
These hybrid flus leverage your immune system against you.
They set off a massive immune response, a “cytokine storm”, and you can drown on your own antibodies. And if you don’t die from that your inflamed and damaged lungs are ripe for bacterial pneumonia and it will try to kill you.
We used to have a retired CDC scientist posting here, Mother Abigail. She had worked on Ebola. But the bug she said was the most dangerous was the good old hybrid flu, capable in her view of inflicting a near-extinction event on mankind.
