A South Carolina church daycare volunteer charged with molesting a three-year-old boy is now being accused of sexually assaulting at least 13 other children.
The bombshell allegations were laid bare in a lawsuit that was filed on Wednesday against 28-year-old Jacop Robert Lee Hazlett and the North Charleston NewSpring Church.
Hazlett supervised the care of three- to five-year-olds at the megachurch. His arrest affidavit says a security camera recording showed him performing oral sex on the toddler in a bathroom on Sunday.

If only Megachurch daycare volunteers were allowed to marry.
Call me what you will, but men looking after little kids like this has always been a huge red flag for me. It is not natural.
My college daughter recently attended a megachurch with some friends. She said Christ was not preached and said she almost wept. A wise friend of hers, who had visited that church, told my daughter that her spirit mourned for the souls in that church.
She is quite happy in her little PCA church where Jesus is preached every week and where the members all know each other and they love her well.
Males should not be allowed to be daycare workers or teachers in preschools and the lower grades in elementary schools. It is not fair to the few males who would like to do these jobs and are good guys, but the risk is too great that perverts will be eager to apply for such jobs. It seems to me there are not many men who want to be daycare workers anyway.
Maybe there were perverts in the church before this guy came along. You don’t innocently put cameras in bathrooms. Are there cameras in the women’s bathroom??? Or just in the men’s? Looks like they have a lot of work to do so as to clean up their act

The US Protestant congregations pretty much leave the crime stuff to the lawful civil authorities. Cesar and Cesar’s, Govt ordained by God for man’s peace and security from war with one another- another guy mentions this in his writing on Natural Rights too, Locke or some body....;)

Probably advice from their lawyers, and the lawyers were correct about where to put the cameras.
Agreed, maybe for a stop gap or am internship for teaching or such, but not as a full-time gig. Men need to stand up on their hind legs and carry a load for a while, so they can learn how to teach young men to become men proper.
My daughter is a Director of a military child care operation on a base, she has one or two males working in the rooms, they , like the gals too, are never left alone with kids, the bathrooms have no door and cameras are recording everything all day.
Males, whether parents or family or visitors, cannot use walk in bathrooms, they must get the male bath key from the front desk, and they cannot take a child in with them....
Because, like you, pedophiles assume there will be no cameras in the bathrooms.

No kidding. It goes the same for Kindergarten teachers and elementary school as well. They have traditionally been the domain of women, who overwhelmingly have the nurturing instinct on their side.
I don't think men should be over children until at least the 6th or 7th grades.
Agree completely. Only condition is in the case of a husband/wife team, and only then with limited access to the children on the part of the male. No bathroom duty, and lots of joint observable activities with complete accountability to the wife or other females.
Children are too precious to trust them with males who are interested in childcare for other people's children.
I'll go with perp too. I'm at a loss of words of what to call this perp, other than evil. I don't think we could call him a Christian from his actions.
All I can say is he better be "getting right with the Lord" because from what we all hear about child molesters in prison, he might be going to meet his Maker much sooner than planned. From here on out, there is going to be hell to pay in the rest of this life and in the next and eternal life for this perp unless he is forgiven.

In case after case after case ad nauseam hitting the press we see female pedophiles as well. No, some man did not make them sexually abuse children.
Removing males while not scrutinizing females fails to stop the damage.
The church here did the right thing with surveillance.

Heartless individual he’s a dead man walking....what he did to these toddlers and so young children is as low as one can go in the food chain.
I don’t know why people leave their children with anyone today...it’s just not safe to do so anymore.
Less Than a Year Ago, ANOTHER NewSpring Associate Was Arrested for a Sexual Interaction With a Minor....
Last February, another man associated with NewSpring Church was arrested for sex with a minor. Caleb Lide Jordan was fired from his position as a Church associate. However, Jordan’s incident did not involve the church, nor did the incident occur on church property.
Jordan was eventually charged with four counts of exploitation of a minor, including solicitation of a minor for sex. Though the identity of the minor was kept anonymous, another member of NewSpring told ABC that Jordan was the boys youth pastor.
The source said, “I volunteered at NewSpring’s youth ministry called Fuse, which was every Wednesday night, and Caleb Jordan was the boys youth pastor at Fuse… He had access as the youth pastor to a wide range of young men there.”
Jordan, like Hazlett, passed both federal and state background checks prior to working at NewSpring.

If you don’t see cameras at your church, you either need to look more closely, or find a better church.
