In a few days, my 81 yo mother will be going to an oral surgeon to have two rotted rear teeth removed. In mid December, my dentist will extract a split tooth of mine. (I'd have it done sooner if not for my commuting schedule and the fact that she is booked solid on the only day of the week I'm available for the next few weeks.)
My mom and I are believing Christians (MO Synod Lutherans). Will we Christians get our lost body parts back when God takes us home? Please cite Scripture.
I ask this because my belief that we will have perfect bodies in heaven was shaken by a conversation my mom and I about that verse in Revelation Behold I will make everything new. Does that verse include the saved souls?
I ran a question to that effect past mom and she said (perhaps not paying attention), I dont think Gods worried about that. This has shaken my faith.
Will my mom and I lose the teeth weve lost and are about to lose for eternity? What about amputees such as my moms aunt/my great aunt, who died in her 80s in 1981, legless and blind from diabetes? Will they remain limbless in heaven?
Please help me on this.

Short answer, yes.
In my humble opinion, not based on anything other than my own relationship with God, you will be beyond those things.
I firmly believe we will get a new body, eventually. For a while we will exist only as spiritual beings in heaven and spirits have no bodies. After the return of Christ when God makes everything new, we will have new, perfect bodies that will not age or become ill.
“So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.”
The only one with scars in heaven will be Jesus....one on each hand, one on each foot, and the side.
Will you get your baby teeth back also?
Everything material about our bodies are just atoms and molecules.
Atoms and molecules do not create the person, at their core. When God recreates us, he will put us back together with atoms and molecules as we should be.
The possibility of not getting teeth and or limbs after the resurrection is shaking your faith that Christ died for your sins and rose again destroying sin death and the devil? Wow!
Your baby teeth served their purpose when they were needed.
“In my humble opinion, not based on anything other than my own relationship with God, you will be beyond those things.”
Your relationship with God must be shallow. The resurrection is a hallmark of the Gospel. It’s one of main points of Acts. We will be resurrected with glorified bodies. We will never, therefore, be “beyond those things” - for they will be gifts from God. We just won’t be dependent upon our bodies as we are now. Instead they will be unhindered and we will be unhindered b them. No sickness, no death, not trapped by time and space.
Think of it this way. Adam had his eternal body from the beginning of his creation. It was his body to keep, had he not fallen.
When God resurrects him, he will get that body back when he is restored to his original position as this planet’s steward and the father of all.
Resurrected bodies will not be subject to the curse (Rev 22:3), or those physical laws that cause decay (the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics).
It also says there are distinct earthly and heavenly bodies, so the characteristics are different. I would point you to 1 Cor 15:34-43 on the discussion of resurrected bodies. Bottom line: there is no perishable resurrected body.
I think so, too.
It seems that the only thing that really matters is Mind.
I don’t understand why people are concerned as to what kind of ‘body’ they will have in ‘Heaven’. Why would we need ‘bodies’?
Because the Hebrew concept of body-mind-spirit is completion. Without one of these, there is no person.
I don’t think you’ll care one way or the other once you get there! It simply won’t matter to you anymore.
In heaven you don’t have earthly bodies, only your souls float around.
