A crocodile has killed a Protestant pastor who was baptising followers near a lake in southern Ethiopia.
Residents and police told BBC Amharic a crocodile leapt from the water during the baptism and attacked him.
Pastor Docho died after being bitten on his legs, back and hands.
"He baptised the first person and he passed on to another one. All of a sudden, a crocodile jumped out of the lake and grabbed the pastor," local resident Ketema Kairo told the BBC.

Crocs attack out of instinct to hunt. To the croc this pastor being in the water was only an invitation to a blue plate special.

HBO had a series based on “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency” set in Botswana. One episode had this very thing happenhusband disappears when attending a baptism. The lady detective solved they mystery by shooting the croc and finding his watch inside.

Clearly the croc was an atheist.
To: Gamecock
Terrible. It was too big of a risk, so sorry for his family.

The old man said, SHE SHOT ME!
Kid says, yea, hell of a message.

I loved those books!
I enjoyed the series. A few changes from the books, but as it was shot in Botswana you get a chance to see the countryside. I believe the Botswanan government provided some funding for the series. Anyway, you can watch them on YouTube.
One refreshing change from most series (IMHO) is that while nearly all of the characters and actors are black, race doesn’t seem to play any part to the stories. Everyone has problems and the characters try to muddle through.
