It’s Ramadan and my mother is in the kitchen slaving over a hot stove preparing a big feast. She’s fasting even though she is a 64-year-old diabetic. As for myself? Earlier in the day, I had a huge fish and chips platter for lunch, but my Muslim family believes I’m fasting with them.
This has gone on for years
During the month of Ramadan, most of the world’s 1.8 billion Muslims will observe by basically not partaking in any vice for 30 days. From sunrise to sunset all able-bodied Muslims are required to “fast”; we are prohibited from eating, drinking (yes, even water), smoking, cursing, bad-mouthing, and any sexual behavior. Fasting during this month is one of the five pillars of Islam and not doing so can not only invite social ridicule within the Muslim community but in certain Muslim countries, can also lead to a fine or even being jailed. Most Muslims look forward to Ramadan every year because they see it as a religious cleanse that leaves them more pure and sets a tone for the rest of the year. That’s if you actually believe in the faith and practice it, which I don’t. But the Muslims around me don’t know that.

Every year at the start of Ramadan, I get my employees to weigh themselves and write down their weight. By the end of Ramadan, 80% of them have gained weight. I try to point out to them what they are doing wrong, but they won’t hear it.
That is why any person who is Muslim who decides to leave Islam has to do it in secret for safety sake.
Ugh, this stupid device “corrects” words I spelled and used correctly.
I meant to say that I suspect the author to be using a fake name, not a cake name.
And I just watched the device change “fake” into “cake.” If I am not super careful, it can turn my clear writing into nonsense. I can’t turn “autocorrect” off.
There are lots of western Christians who fast regularly but don’t advertise it.
The kidney problem may be more related to dozens of generations of inbreeding/”cousin marriage”.

In the early days of my Air Force career (1963) I was in tech school at Keesler AFB, MS. We had an Afghan exchange officer in our class (Afghanistan was an ally and a kingdom at that time). Nicest guy in the world but a very, very strict moslem. By the time we finished with him he was as good a drinker as the rest of us and a connoisseur of fine foods, tobacco, and women. So there is hope.

Islam is far harsher on apostates (officially speaking, if the Koran is really a guide for them, which is no easy thing to determine. It IS a guide when it suits them, and not...when it doesn’t.) than it is on “unbelievers”, Christians, or even Jews, hard as that is to believe.

He forgot to mention that in muzzy countries you get beaten up for not fasting.
Many people whose parents are of non-British origin become very British. Case in point Benjamin Disraeli who was a third generation immigrant — all his grandparents were Italian born Sephardic Jews.
I thought he said his mother was in the kitchen SHAVING. Which would not be unusual for a muslime/Neanderthal female.
I think we Western Christians have tried to make things too easy - what with lighter to no fasting and also nice comfy pews and comfy cushioned kneelers. The Orthodox have it right for their 2+ hour Divine Liturgy - you stand or you kneel in God’s presence. Only the old and the pregnant and the ill get to sit!

Muslims are for damn sure an ignorant bunch of dumb asses.
I seek them out during Ramalamadingdong or whatever the hell it is, and make sure they see me pigging out during their hours of "sacrifice".

In fact, muslims in Great Britain are not assimilating. I would think we would all know this by now.
