'Bible Quotes and Scientific Facts
1988 | Dr. Sam Gipp

Posted on 03/11/2018 2:06:33 PM PDT by Pilgrim's Progress

Of all the messages that I have listened to by Sam Gipp, I believe there is one that is downright fun!

Without fail, because I use the KJB exclusively, it does not take long before the accusation is made that I am just another one of those KJB-Only cultists - the straw man used to delude the Message and denounce the messenger.

This message by Dr. Gipp, 'Bible Quotes and Scientific Facts' is one that I have long wished to use just to show folks how ingrained the King James Bible is within our English culture and how they have been using it in their own lives without even knowing it.

I hope that Dr. Gipps message might be a true blessing, so that anyone that wishes might use it in their online travels (some call it trolling) to perhaps build a bridge for the lost to cross over to find acceptance of the Word of God and discover that it is not just another man-made attempt at dumbing down the scriptures.

Thank God that His Word is not bound!

The neat thing about God is you can't get away from Him.

The fact is that God made it so that you cannot ignore Him. Now here’s a fact – God wrote this Book, and God made you. And the neat fact about this is that you are going to quote this Book from now until you leave this world in death. There is no way that you are ever going to get away from quoting this Bible.

I like that because you have a group of people around our country, like the Carl Sagans of the world who believe that everyone came from a mud puddle – and with all that going on – you have a bunch of people that like to tell us that we didn’t come from God and yet they’ll quote the Bible the rest of their lives!

I can tell you this, that if you go home today and take your Bible and throw it away, or put it on a shelf or lock it away and never read from it again; if you say that you will never quote John 3:16 again or quote anything from the Bible again – I’m going to tell you now – you are going to quote from this Bible for the rest of your life!

You are going to quote this Book the rest of your life! Lost people quote this Book, lost scientists quote this Book, people that absolutely hate God quote this Book. Atheists quote this Book! Why? Because the same God that made us made this Book. And you are not going to get away from the fact that there is an integral part - there is something about that Book in us that our Designer has linked us permanently.

You don’t need a King James Bible to quote a King James Bible, did you know that? That is a fact. I say again, you don’t need a King James Bible to quote a King James Bible. You don’t have to believe in a King James Bible, you don’t need to believe in God, you don’t have to believe in anything else – but you are still going to quote from a King James Bible!

Begin with Genesis chapter 30 and I am going to give you two groups – One is going to be some Bible quotes that the Bible had before mankind ever used them, and they found their way into our every day speech; and the second will be Bible facts – facts that the Bible had before science discovered them.

Science likes to take credit for a lot of stuff, and if they had just read their Bible they would have known about them some 2,000-3,000 years ahead of time – but leave it to science to drag behind.

In Genesis chapter 30, Laban makes this statement in verse 27:

“And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, If I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.”

And that’s that phrase, “learned by experience.”

Haven’t you done that? You look at when you got out of high school and how much you knew. You knew everything – and as you got older, you got dumber. Remember how much you thought you knew? And what happened? As you grew older, ‘you LEARNED BY EXPERIENCE.” Isn’t that what they say? You get hired but you are going to have to ‘LEARN BY EXPERIENCE’ . . .

Some of you men, you finally married someone that said ‘yes’, but how many did you ask before that? You had to ‘LEARN BY EXPERIENCE’. Maybe you asked 4 or 5 so when the results came in you got one.

But the fact is that over life, as life goes on, you will ‘LEARN things BY EXPERIENCE’.

Okay, no hurry . . . I have a bunch of these . . . but let’s let this one sink in. After a little time has passed I’ll post the next one. Give you boys and girls a chance to ponder this one.

No sense in trying to eat the elephant in one big bite!

Perhaps you’ll be interested in following this thread. At some point we’ll see just how much ‘science’ is contained in the Book of Job . . . truths contained in a book 400 years old.

Is a King James Bible different from the King James Version of the Bible?

Look at Genesis 31. Growing up I believe we all had a mother that like to clean our room. They had an uncanny ability to drop a letter, it could be an 8-page letter, to the floor – falls open – and she can read every page of that letter, every word, before she stands back up and puts it back in. Well, in no time you know that she read that letter. Well, when that kind of thing happened, didn’t we react something like Jacob did to Laban in Genesis 31:37 , “Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff . . .”!

Isn’t that what we called it? We said, “You searched all my stuff!”

And when we move, what do we call it? “We put our stuff on the truck.”

You camp out and you “take your stuff” to the cabin, or get your stuff and put it in the motel room. You can look at the New King James, and the New International Version and the New American Standard version . . . the New King James says you searched all my things, and the NIV and NASV say you searched all my goods.

Well, that’s all well and good, but is that how we talk? No.

Shouldn’t a modern translation use words like we use today? Every one of us says ‘stuff’ . . . isn’t that the truth? You don’t say, “all my goods” you say “that’s all my stuff over there!”

I’ll tell you something else. If you are an atheist and you don’t believe the King James Version is the Word of God, you don’t think there is a God and you think that the world is flat – it doesn’t matter what you think! You are still going to say, I don’t believe any of THAT STUFF!

You say, “I’m going to get my stuff and get out of here! These King James fanatics are crazy!!”

I’m going to tell you something people. Folks are going to quote that King James Bible – I don’t care if don’t quote Jesus wept, I don’t care if you don’t quote John 3:16, you are going to say something that the King James Version said centuries before you were born!

God ALWAYS answers prayers. “Yes”, “No” or “Wait!”

But I promise that He will always say yes to the man that prays, “Lord Jesus, take away my sins and come into my heart and save me.”

Once that has been taken care of folks will be amazed at how often He says ‘Yes’ going further.

I like this even better ...

Good judgement comes from experience.
And experience comes from bad judgement.

You will get no attack from me.

I use the AV/KJV. I am not in love with the specific period of English, although it is at times exquisite.

I am in hate with Higher Criticism: The Frankfurt School usurpation of so-called theological seminaries: Westcott-Hort.

It is the Textus Receptus that I use, in the AV/KJV form.

God has truly blessed the KJV - it was strong throughout the Great Awakening and the two great revivals of history. It is the Book that soul winners use.

While there is evidence . . . for me FAITH is the victory! I believe in a God that is able to preserve His Word throughout all generations.
