I am on lots of "Ping Lists" here on FR. One of my all-time favorites is the "Astronomy Picture of the Day". The stars, galaxies, gas clouds, and other celestial phenomena are so awesome that we need to be reminded in Scripture NOT to "worship" them! They are the Creation of Our Mighty God, Who, by the Word of His Mouth, Brought these things into existence.

There are some sub-atomic particles that are so small they can not be seen even with the most powerful microscopes.

The same can be said for some celestial bodies that are so far away they can't be seen either. Yet scientists have NO problem affirming their existence because of the effect that these particles or planets have upon their surroundings.

They say the hidden particles exist because of the trails they leave behind, and the hidden celestial bodies exist because of the gravitational effect on others in the region.

We can't see God, but we can see HIS WORK all around us, from the astronomical level to the sub-atomic level. I will NEVER stop Gazing in Silent Wonder and proclaim,

"HOW GREAT THOU ART!"

We pray for the Repentance, Restoration, and Renewal of Our Beloved Nation.

For to us a child is born,

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Most of you know that I majored in Graphic Design in College, and that I am a painter, although Music ended up being my profession. What most people don't realize though, is that I learned to draw as a pre-schooler watching a local TV Show in Boston called "Captain Bob". I preferred Captain Bob to Captain Kangaroo, because Captain Bob had gone to Art School, and had a huge easel on his show where he taught the kids how to draw various cartoon characters. My dad kept me supplied with boxes of paper (free end-cuts at the paper mill in Hyde Park) and I faithfully followed Captain Bob's instructions. By the time I entered Kindergarten, the teachers told Mom to NOT buy me coloring books, but just keep me supplied with paper.

Years later, an elderly artist on PBS had a painting show on PBS, (He was the forerunner of Bob Ross) and I tuned in. The man had a funny little accent, and kept referring to his large fan brush as "The MIGHTY Fan Brush". Every time he said this, I would crack up laughing! As useful as a fan brush is for blending oil paint, there is no way, under any stretch of the imagination, that such an item could be labeled "MIGHTY"!

That term only makes sense when describing The One True God.
