I firmly believe that we can meet our relatives on the other side of the veil of death
where there will be an accounting of the activities of our life
based upon the blessings that we have received from our ancestors and from the Lord
Never hide your blessings under a bushel basket, and let your light shine forth, as you have done.
And give thanks for the opportunity for the time allotted to you and your mother,
since we are all here for a reason,...and for a season.
The Lord has blessed you richly for 92 years ~ give thanks for that !

When my mother passed a few years ago, the greatest help (not “comfort” because there’s no “comfort” in such a situation) was when it was pointed out to me that Jesus wept before he rose Lazarus from the dead.

So in that, we can know that sadness itself has a purpose, because even He was profoundly sad even though He was about to raise His friend from the dead! So sadness itself, not just suffering, and the expression thereof has a purpose, it’s not just pain for no reason.

We can say this with confidence since He never did anything without a purpose.

This helped me in the same situation you’re in now; hopefully it will you.

I’m very sorry to hear of your loss.

I will not burden you with rationalization, you are too old to need that, but I hope that my 91 year-old Mom can slip away just the same way when the time comes.
