FULL TITLE: Principal Who Screamed at Pro-Life Teen: I Dont Give a S What Jesus Says Says His Lifes Been a Wreck Ever Since
Earlier this year and assistant principal at a Pennsylvania high school was caught on video yelling profanities at pro-life teenagers who are holding signs demonstrating against abortion.
The teenager, Conner Haines, was part of a Christian group called Project Frontlines that was hosting a holocaust of abortion display on the public sidewalks outside the school. The pro-lifers showed photos of aborted babies and other information to help educate the public about abortion.
Haines and his sister Lauren captured the incident with Ruff on video and posted it to YouTube. During various points in the 18-minute video, Ruff yelled at the teen, swore at him, threatened to call the police and told the teen to go to Hell.
At one point, Ruff told the teen: I dont give an (expletive) what Jesus tells me about what I should and should not be doing. You are harassing public school students and I will call the police if you dont shut up.
Dr. Zach Ruff, an assistant principal at Downingtown STEM Academy in Chester County, initially was placed on administrative leave in April after a video showed him yelling and swearing at a pro-life teenager who was protesting on the sidewalk outside the school. Eventually he resigned to the Downingtown Area School Board.
Now the former assistant principal says his life has been a wreck since the incident occurred and since his decision to quit his position at the high school.
During a two-hour interview, both teared up frequently, Ruff verging on sobs. He said he takes several medications, sees a therapist twice weekly, and rarely leaves the house without Logan. When they do go out, they eat out or shop in Delaware or Philadelphia so they dont run into students or parents.
Keep up with the latest pro-life news and information on Twitter.
Mostly, they want people to know that Ruff has suffered from anxiety and depression since he was a teenager growing up in Vermont, where, he said, he was abused at home, was hospitalized for two months after attempting suicide at 17, then set out on his own.
Ruff sent out 200 job applications last summer and had a few interviews one potential employer ended up blocking his phone number, apparently after seeing the video but worries he will never work in education again. I didnt want this to define me, he said.
Although Ruffs actions were clearly out of line, he is a human being who deserves forgiveness for what he did and restoration. Hopefully he feels true contrition for his actions and will be able to find a job where he can be a positive and supportive role model for others regardless of their viewpoints on abortion.
My first question also
So I just had to check out other news sources on this, mostly to see if I could find out who the heck Logan is...
Anyway, I found that students had presented to the school board a petition with 50,000 signatures, supposedly from students (according to one report), supporting this guy because he is such a great educator. Funny thing, the Downingtown Area School district, which he was a part of, only has 12,000 students.
A Go Fund Me page was set up in support of this paragon of education seven months ago with a goal to raise $10K. To this date they have raised $7,880. In seven months. Heck, if everyone who signed the petition had only given him $.20 each he would have reach the goal.
If you need a reminder on just how much the left viscerally hates us, just go read the comments on the Go Fund Me page and on the YouTube videos.
The left is mentally ill.
I’m with you - he’s a typical liberal ... Sorry he got caught. Here’s a poster of liberals who ‘got caught’ and nothing happened to them...

A message from Dr. Ruff
Hello everyone and thank, you all for taking the time to read this update. More importantly thank you for all of your support over the past months since the incident. The support I have received here and in other venues has been very overwhelming in a good way. With that in mind, I wanted to provide an update for you all concerning the state of things.
As I was always as transparent as I could be with my students, I would like to continue that trend here. Specifically, I have always tried to be open and honest concerning my own personal struggles with anxiety and depression, illnesses I was diagnosed with when I was a high school student myself, illnesses that I continue to struggle with to this day.
Since the incident I have continued to see my doctors and to monitor my own mental health in light of the events. We have tried a variety of therapies and approaches with little to no success. Given the circumstances of my mental health as a result of the incident and its aftermath, this has proven to be a very daunting task.
As a result of this my doctors recently diagnosed me with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD. This diagnosis offers no relief for me and my family, but rather has lined out the long road to recovery that I will be walking as my psychiatrist stated, for years to come.
Given my fragile state, and under the advice of my psychiatrist I will be attempting to move forward with a disability retirement under my PTSD diagnosis. This will allow me to focus on getting myself back to a healthier place, where hopefully I will one day again be able to help students. I cannot begin to thank you all for your support these past few months, but please know it has made a huge impact on me. Thank you all, and May the Force be with You,
Yours Dr. Ruff
Correct
This assistant principal is nothing but an illogical goon!!
“Ruff has suffered from anxiety and depression since he was a teenager growing up in Vermont, where, he said, he was abused at home, was hospitalized for two months after attempting suicide at 17, then set out on his own.”
Poor wittle baby...here’s a hankie.
Forgiveness okay, but restoration? not so good.
Agreed. He should not be placed in charge of children again.
Ron Logan is Dr. Zack Ruff’s husband.
[think i’m going to puke]
I can’t IMAGINE why he “and his husband” would want to silence the opinion of Jesus Christ, His Father, two thousand years of scripture (New) and six thousand years of Scripture (old) and human civilization. Can you? I would imagine that having worn down public opinion with transforming “sin” into “lifestyle choice”, he was unprepared to find there are still people prepared to be outraged when a completely shameless man curses God out loud, in public, in front of their children. And apparently the Baal-faux-god of “tolerance” that HE worships, or claims to, doesn’t mean that he has to respect what OUTHERS believe. Sir, don’t touch a hot stove, jump off tall buildings, or French kiss any rattlesnakes. Just wanted to warn you, because they s whole “cause and effect” thing seem new to you.
Yeah, in the original video, he was proudly a sodomite. I assumed it was his co-sodomite or an adopted child. At least it was not an adopted kid.
I had to check my suspicions, and here they are confirmed, Ruff is gay and Logan is his “husband”.
Satan’s army suffers forever.
I hope he finds it...in the right place.
So he's FINALLY learning there are consequences for his actions.
'Bout time.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
He was abused, so now he “gets” to abuse some other teens? It’s their turn?
Are only people who have led perfect loves, had a perfect childhood to be held responsible for their actions?
I don’t like it when 3rd parties step in and say it’s time he be forgiven. That’s up to kids he abused. Even if they have forgiven him, that doesn’t mean he’s the top candidate, based on his past job performance, at jobs to which his applying. It DID happen and it’s part of his record.
