At the closing of the largest meeting of North American Catholics in Orlando, Florida, attended by more than 3,000 people, the Archbishop of Newark, New Jersey, Cardinal Joseph William Tobin CSsR released an interview with the newspaper La Croix in which he stresses the strength of Christian identity in the face of the crisis that many countries now live.
"As followers of Jesus, we must be careful not to exclude others the climate of insecurity has caused an exaggerated patriotism in the United States. Everyone identifies himself first and foremost as an American rather than a disciple of Jesus. And we, American Catholics, run this risk."
When asked about Church relations with President Trump, Cardinal Tobin replies: "Donald Trump is a businessman. He says he is always looking to close a deal. The Bishops must beware of him, because he tells them that he will be against abortion, that he will not force them to pay for contraception...

The bishops in the U.S. are about 95% lefty Democrats. They abuse their office by pretending, as they endlessly bash Republicans, that they are articulating “Catholic social teaching.”

This disgraceful convocation in Orlando was the brainchild of John Carr, a former staffer of Jimmy Carter, our first fanatically pro-abortion president. Carr was tasked with organizing a White House Conference on the Family. He renamed it the White House Conference on Families. Get it?
Carr was so hostile to pro-lifers that a bunch of them walked out.
For years, he and a bunch of bishops have been pretending that the pro-life movement and the “social justice” types have no real differences, and just need “dialogue” and “encounter.”
The elephant in the room is that the Catholic Left and virtually all the bishops’ employees are pro-abortion.
Pleading the cause of a few migrants, farmers and shop keepers historically received in an orderly fashion, “yes”.
An orchestrated invasion of unknown foreigner warriors, from communist inspired South America, and anti-Christian, anti-capitalist radicals mixed in with refugees, NO, NEVER.
Not in war time.
These remarks are insane, apples and serpents, happy talk denial of reality, lying excuses for collapsing America in the name of “charity”!

The historic fear of Catholicism was that it was intrinsically loyal to the vatican and its ideas rather than America first.
